Letter from The President: Wanna fight porn?

Fri, 17 Jun 2005 Source: J. A. Fukuor/Daily Dispatch

Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents, the sale of pornographic material in Sikaman has suddenly become an issue of priority to the police and the Methodist Church. And I don?t understand why. Last week the police announced that it is going all out to stop the sale of pornographic newspapers. A few days after the police announcement, the Methodist Church decided that from now onwards it will take those who produce and sell pornography to court. They both argue that the sale of pornography is contributing to the moral decadence in the society. Do they have any evidence? Well, they?ve not produced any yet. But I don?t think you that the blind men and the cripples who have been molesting or defiling six-year-olds have ever seen a porn flick before. I just want to know from both the police and the Methodists, is porn a pressing priority? Right now? I hope not! I think that both the police and the Methodists have far more important tasks to accomplish than going after pornographers. I don?t want to say much about the police, though.
