In view of the seeming absurdity on the roads by recalcitrant drivers and motorcyclists, the Baatsona Divisional MTTD and Divisional Commander, C/Supt Julius Kpebbeson led an exercise dubbed, "Operation Absolute Sanity".
According to the police, the operation also follows the blatant disregard for Road Traffic Regulations by motorists coupled with their likely involvement in robbery and other crimes recorded in recent times.
The exercise was conducted between the hours of 6:00 and 10:00 hrs within the division on February 19, 2020.
Various motorists were arrested for varying road traffic offences and other suspected crimes.
Seventy-One (71) motorbikes and Nine (9) tricycles were also impounded for investigation.
The exercise will be continued unabated to curb the menace.
