As members and sympathaisers of the NDC, We are very frustrated at the turn of events in our party . We and others decided to support the cause of change being called for by Mrs Konadu Agyeman Rawlings for party members to be looked after and for the neglect to stop.
Our party, which was elected to solve the problems and right the wrongs inflicted on Ghanaians by the NPP, has totally diverted its course and has embarked on a course which is alien to the tenets of June 4th and 31st December Revolutions on which the party was formed. Our senior party figures are now only interested in making money and amassing wealth while those who fought for the party to come to power, suffer in silence and extreme poverty. This is surely a recipe for disaster in 2012.
We are deeply shocked that The General Secretary of the NDC Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia alias General Mosquito who instead of managing our party affairs and restoring order to a fractured organisation, has become the ‘Regimanuel’ of the NDC. Apart from alleged houses in Canada and Cuba, he is also building an estate complex at oyibi outside Accra and a hotel. What will Ghanaians think of us if we engage in such recklessness?
Former President Jerry John Rawlings, the founder of our party is right to lament on the lack of restraint, excess corruption and mediocrity currently going on under President Mills. The mad rush to acquire properties instead of punishing wrongdoing in the previous administration is a betrayal of the promises made to the people. Mr Aseidu Nketia and others are abusing their positions to amass wealth .Does Aseidu Nketia expect the youth who gave their lives for the party to come to power do so again when they are living in poverty? .How can President Mills call himself a party leader and not go to our party headquarters for 2 years? President Mills has not even attended any meetings of any of the Youth groups including TEIN since he became Party leader yet he expects us to go and skin our bones for a 2nd term so that latter day saints like Boakye Djan, who has collected monies from the Ahwoi brothers to be an MP, a dangerous man who plotted against our existence whilst in exile, now promised to replace Professor Kofi Awoonor as Council of state chairman in the event of a 2nd term win. Should we always work for strangers to come and enjoy ? Is this what NDC is about?
Those who are preventing Nana Konadu and others from restoring our values and preventing our youth from defecting must know the ideals of June 4th and 31st December will live forever. We support the call for a proper debate on the direction and future of our party. We call on all party members to call President Mills to order and stop this fratricide which will lead our party to defeat.
It is always easy to destroy than to build
