Government has come under massive public pressure over speculation and misinformation of the citizenry pertaining to Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
But the minister of Education has given a vivid evidence to convince Ghanaians that CSE can never be part of the course outline to be used to educate our children in various schools.
Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) stressed out that, during training of teachers for the new curriculum this year did not include issues relating to Comprehensive Sex Education.
I have heard views from Christian Council, Pentecostal Council and Muslim Council (Chief Immam) and these people are all stakeholders of our education system also highly respected people, I want to assure them since the Minister (Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh) has spoken that there is nothing like that sort in our education system, there should be no cause for alarm.
And I also want to make this straight to all Ghanaians that, His Excellency the President is a good Christian and his Vice is also a good Muslim and will never adopt anything which is contrary to their belief, and the country will never domesticate Lesbianism, Gay, Bisexuality or Transgender (LGBT).
But it’s so pathetic that the NDC want to capitalise on this issue for political gains meanwhile the then Education minister under ex President Mahama is aware the CSE started in 2015 and was signed by the Director General of Education called Jacob A. Cole at that time. Because of the NDC’s desperation for power they have decided to bus people from regions to stage demonstration on something which does not exist in the current curriculum.
I’m assuring Ghanaians to be cool and calm because there will be nothing like LGBT in Ghana here and Education Ministry has also made clear that the CSE is not part of our curriculum.
