For today,24th January,2015 edition of Joy-FM's 'Newsfile',the General Secretaries of NPP,CPP,PPP,PNC and NDC were invited, and according to our checks, it was only Bernard Monah of PNC that sought permission to absent himself to enable him attend a funeral.

Conseqiently, the rest had confirmed their availability and readiness to be present at the studios of Multimedia, this morning, for the programme.

However, Asiedu-Nketia, the General Secretary of the ruling party, NDC, and therefore has a lot to tell the good people of this nation, surprisingly failed to show up at the eleventh-hour.

And instead of the programme simply being called-off and apologies rendered to both audience and disappointed panelists, Sampson Lardy Ayemini rather tried, at the frontage of Multimedia premises, to persuade the General Secretary of NPP,Kwabena Agyei Agyepong,to join the others, present, for the programme.

But Kwabena Agyepong, on a matter of principle, refused Sampson Lardy's pleadings by stating that "Asiedu Nketia,in his capacity as the CEO of the ruling party has a lot to answer to Ghanaians so this programme certainly cannot go on without him".

Mr. Agyepong further revealed that, indeed, "Asiedu-Nketiah,on three previous occassions, had failed to show up at IEA-organized meetings for General Secretaries of political parties”, and that, “today’s episode makes it the third time he has engaged in such unfortunate snub".

Mr. Agyepong, however, expressed his readiness to make himself available, any day, for the programme when the full complement of General Secretaries representing the various political parties has been achieved, in order to make the debate meaningful to the audience.
