Flag of the New Patriotic Party NPP
I hear John Dramani Mahama-led NDC administration is scheming to get rid of Kwame Sefa Kayi from Despite Media, and my NPP people are upset.
On top of my head, I can count over 1000 NDC-leaning radio, TV, Information Centers and a horde of media affiliates across the length and breadth of Ghana.
And one may ask: why, over the years, has the NPP failed to consciously empower its people to set up media houses, but expect others to fight our proxy battles?
To make matters worse, even with the few NPP-leaning media houses, the party's stalwarts and official communicators don't honour their invites.
Our NPP leaders and official party communicators are rather happy to appear on atrociously hostile and maliciously jaundiced media platforms.
Indeed, there are NPP official communicators who have laid down their tools, literally, because the party has boycotted TV3 Ghana when Net2TVGH is there.
My people are comfortable on platforms where they can appear in 3-piece suits with beautiful accents, even when they are not allowed to make their points.
Days ago, I saw issues being raised about the purported preferential treatment being given to WoezorTV, and I asked "Should Wontumi TV be the option for JDM?"
The work Woezor TV did in beaming live coverage of the NDC campaign, deep into the nights from every nook-and-cranny, they deserve all the goodies available.
I think we have to be realistic in this game of politics, particularly in our part of the world, prioritize our set objectives, and not blame others for our woes.
