NPP oil deal- that is a joke!

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 Source: Ibrahim, Patriot Faisal

There is this news circulating that the NPP has signed a “loan agreement” with a foreign oil firm, Maersk Oil.

Which serious international Oil Company will come to Ghana to sign a "loan agreement" with the opposition political party because the party is "likely" to win the next elections?

Wait a minute....!

You the one peddling this, and the one believing this, have you subjected this to any level of critical reasoning?

Even local Ghanaian owned businesses do not make such financial commitments to political parties. The truth is that most local businesses diversify their support to political parties.

And why will the oil firm NOT give the money to the political party which is in power? The NDC is in charge of Ghana's natural resources. If the foreign firm actually needs our resources, why will they not meet those in power and in charge of it now but rather take the silly risk of giving a "loan" to a party in opposition?

Really, is the oil firm a financial company to be offering loans?

That a foreign firm with Board of Directors passed a resolution for $150 million "loan" be given to an African opposition political party because the party is "likely" to win the next general elections...

Ghanaians are way smarter than this cock and bull story.

Nana Akufo Addo made the point at Sunyani that he and the party can tolerate divergent views. As a lawyer of high repute, dealing with divergent and opposing views has been part of his professional trade and life. But when individuals are financially spirited to scuttle the goals of the flag bearer and the party, such persons cannot and will not be tolerated. Any serious group has severe sanctions for individuals who act in ways that go contrary to the group objectives.

The NDC have suspended many national executives in the past for similar reasons. The NDC suspended Kofi Adams because of his interaction with Gabby over the chances of President Mills winning the elections. The party thought the content of that discussion was against its objective of winning political power, hence suspended its Deputy General Secretary.

Even our national constitution, the 1992 Constitution makes clear provisions for processes to be taken by Ghanaians to impeach the number one citizen of this country, the President, if he acts in ways that are inimical to the interest of the State. This has nothing to do with intolerance but everything to do with ensuring group discipline.

This story is pathetically crafted to scuttle the chances of Nana Akufo Addo winning next year's elections. The agenda is in full motion even from outside. Ghanaians know the intention of those people and will disregard their schemes.

What is of concern to the electorate is the terrible nature President Mahama has handled our economy. The Ghanaian is frustrated by the high cost of food and utilities. The Ghanaian is worried about dumsor. The Ghanaian is awed by the level of plundering and corruption. Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP offer the best alternatives. Ghanaian electorates have considered this and have decided to vote for the NPP and Nana Akufo Addo. Not some cock and bull story by a story teller who has a fertile but infantile imagination.
