Okatakyie, I couldn't have summed it up better. Npp is campaigning for defeat and not for victory.There are too many militant Nana Akuffo supporters who have no business calling into radio talk shows and making wild accusations on their fellow elephant family members. They are really making Nana Akuffo Addo unpopular and I have said so many times to those London based Nana Frimpong Oman Ghana talk show that brings out the cuckoos who talk like Boko Haram terrorists.
The spastic rantings of Kennedy Agyapong went overdrive today, August 22 when he accused Kwadwo Mpiani,former Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Kufuor administration and the former Minister of Health Dr. Richard Anane of plotting to kill Nana Akuffo Addo in the event of him becoming a President. What a sad turn of events in Npp at a time when the Ndc administration under President Mahama has 'gifted' the Party of an easy victory in 2016 but the Akuffo Addo militant supporters are doing everything possible to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, what a shame.
"The ballistic nature of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, went into overdrive on Friday when he accused Kwadwo Mpiani and Dr. Richard Anane, former Chief of Staff in the erstwhile Kufuor administration and the former Minister of Health respectively, of plotting to "poison Nana Addo in the event that he becomes President of the Republic of Ghana."
I have been listening to some Radio stations like Oman Ghana and Adom FM talking shows and I am surprised how some of these Akuffo Addo supporters talk. I sometimes doubt if these people are really Akuffo Addo supporters or they don't know politics is not a war but a game of numbers trying to win other people to your cause by adding people and not subtracting people. It seems to me the Akuffo Addo non Asante supporters are doing everything possible to make Asante Akuffo Addo supporters like me to feel unwelcome in their midst but Nana Akuffo cannot win the Presidency without the full support of Alan Kyerematten supporters and there is a lot of Alan supporters out there.
These Akuffo Addo militant supporters if they were politically savvy should have known that Nana Akuffo Addo will win the Npp nomination with minimal campaign and they should not have seen Alan Kyerematten as an enemy they should go after and therefore building a wedge that will make Alan supporters to sit the 2016 election out. Akuffo Addo may win the Npp nomination with 90% of the Npp votes but when it comes to the general elections, the 10% of those who did not support Nana are going to sit home and that has been the problem of electing Akuffo Addo because his supporters make it impossible for those who did not support him to feel welcome back into the fold. His supporters make other supporters of the other candidates so mad they don't go to the polls or even if they go, they vote for their Parliamentary candidates and don't vote for Nana Akuffo Addo as the Presidential candidate.
If you analyze the voting pattern of the 2012 election, you will see that NPP Parliamentary candidates votes totaled more than Ndc Parliamentary candidates and that of President Mahama and those votes have translated into Nana Akuffo Addo, he would have won the Presidency.
Npp will be better off without this crackpot called Kennedy Agyapong. Whilst the Council of Elders of the Party are trying to bring the various groups in the Party to smoke a peace pipe, Kennedy Agyapong keeps fanning the embers of hate in this Party.
I am a Nana Akuffo Addo staunch supporter but it seems these people dom't want the Asante votes with their hate filled sophomoric vituperations against Asantes. My recent foray into the radio talk shows especially the crackpots at Oman Ghana Nana Frimpong London based talk show has given me a pause. Akuffo Addo supporters of Akyem descent blaming Asantes for Akuffo Addo previous Presidential defeats has dimmed my lights and the sad part is that, they are losing a lot of votes for Nana Akuffo Addo instead of winning votes for him.
In 2008, candidate Mills was initially not supported by President Rawlings and it is a fact that Rawlings was not even picking Mills and his campaign team calls but they kept trying until Rawlings came around to support his candidacy. Why am I bringing this Ndc example? It shows the difference between how Ndc deals with its internal problems compared to Npp.
Nana Akuffo Addo supporters are still blaming President Kuffour and Alan Kyerematten for his 2012 defeat and deepening the mistrust between the two factions instead of trying to make peace for harmonious 2016 campaign that will bring Nana Akuffo Addo, the best suited person to be the President now. The incorruptible Nana Akuffo Addo is the person we need now who can deal with the corrupt social canker in Ghana and his sword will cut both ways. We should all eschew this hate tendencies and realize that we have a common cause of bringing an NPP administration to power if we want Nana Akuffo as the President in January 2017. We should stop talking about some people having agenda 2020.The point is that, Nana Akuffo Addo is going to win the Npp nomination but he cannot win the Presidency without Alan Kyerematten supporters and it is about time we Nana Akuffo Addo supporters start treating them as a members of the elephant family and not as step children.
