Nana Akuffo-Addo is bringing nothing new to our political stage

Sat, 25 Jun 2016 Source: Mifetu, Seth

It is nothing extraordinary for Ghanaians to rejoice about when the aged politician of our time- the erroneous leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), “Opana” Addo Dankwa tone the path of unattractive politics by evoking NPP archive message to the public, that, when he Nana Addo Dankwa unfortunately become the President of Ghana, he will build one industry in every district. What an insult.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with building a castle in the air

What is new about this? Even a child can tell that, under three years of President Mahama, the Country has seen industries like Komenda sugar factory, Kumasi shoe factory, Fertilizer processing factory, Ceramics Factory, Elmina Fish processing factory, Shea-Nut processing factory, Pharmaceutical factories and many more.

So, what is the point in electing Addo Dankwa to do what President Mahama is already doing?

Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo was the de-facto President during former President J.A Kuffuor’s wasted 8 year administration. Why didn’t he do the things he is preaching to do now at then?

Addo Dankwa Akuffo- Addo is not learning from the NPP’s past propaganda mistakes that made them unpopular, and I don’t blame him. Can the aged dog learn a new trick? No.

Nana Addo Dankwa and the NPP preached the same gospel from NPP propaganda Bible in 2000 that they would build Industries and ensured even development in every region, but when they assumed office in 2001, they were unable to do it.

For example, NPP demonstrated against Value Added Tax (VAT) and promised to remove it when they come to power, and when they were given the mandate to rule, they put VAT at their blind spot.

Akuffo-Addo and the NPP in the year 2000 were screaming on top of their lungs that cost of living was unbearable for Ghanaians which according to them resulted from high cost of fuel prices. But when they assumed government, they rather increased the fuel price and made life harder for Ghanaians.

They promised positive change and better economy but gave us hardship, cocaine and “Isakawa” economy.

They promised us zero tolerance for corruption but gave us flamboyant Corruption State.

.

When Ghanaians told them that those were not what they promised them, NPP’s response was that when they were outside government, they couldn’t clearly see and know what exactly was going on.

Akuffo-Addo has started the same thing. Telling Ghanaians what he cannot do just to get to power.

Was it not the same Akuffo-Addo who had been globe-trotting with the capitalist ideas of leaving production of goods and service, factories and industries in the hands of private sector?

Why then the opposite story of 1-district, 1-Industries.

Oh, Akuffo-Addo’s, arrogant, desperation and lies are not a political strategy.

We have 216 districts, where will Akuffo-Addo get the funds to build 216 Industries within four years.

Has Akuffo-Addo forgotten that he said should he become the President, he will not borrow? He will not go to IMF? He will reduce taxes and tariffs?

Akuffo-Addo should not be taken serious.

Come 2016 election, I urge all Ghanaians to vote for President John Dramani Mahama to continue the good job that he is doing for Ghana.

Long live President Dramani Mahama,

Long live Ghana.
