Oh "Lawyer" Adwoa Safo Why? My Sister Why??

I recently read an article entitled "Adwoa safo raises questions about NDC candidate’s residential status" with stunt disbelief, according to the article, LAWYER Adwoa Safo the NPP parliamentary candidate alleged that Madam Sophia Ackuaku the NDC candidate had flouted Article 94 (1) (b) of Ghana’s constitution raising questions about her residential status in the constituency and claimed that she had not lived in the area for five years. Ms. Safo further lamented that her opponent has only lived in the area for about one year.

I hurriedly pulled the constitution of Ghana and scrolled to the "Composition of Parliament" section to article 94 (1)Subject to the provisions of this article, a person shall not be qualified to be a member of Parliament unless - (b) He is resident in the constituency for which he stands as a candidate for election to Parliament or has resided there for a total period of not less than five years out of the ten years immediately preceding the election for which he stands, or he hails from that constituency.

My first thought was; what in the world is this girl talking about? If by her own admission her opponent lives in the constituency albeit less than five years, what else is there to be investigated? Could it be that this ignoramus whose only claim to fame is being the daughter of a self-proclaimed Messiah Apostle Kwadwo Safo and also being the mistress and baby mama of loud-mouth Kennedy Agyepong does not understand this simple constitutional article? How in the world could Adwoa represent the good people of Dome Kwabenya if she cannot read and understand such basic elementary sentence?

Adwoa, read the first condition carefully: "He is resident in the constituency for which he stands as a candidate for election to Parliament". Even a Not-free SHS dropout will understand the sentence to mean that if your opponent has lived in the constituency for even one day prior to filing to contest, she's eligible. No wonder our law school is shrouded in disrepute.

My sister, parliament is really serious business. As a patriotic Ghanaian, I am shocked by your utterances, where is the quality and substance of your capacity to lead your constituency? Are Ghanaians so nonchalant about the quality of representation they get in parliament? How matured is a candidate like Adwoa Safo to represent Dome Kwabenya? What life experiences does she bring to bear? How did the NPP delegates in that constituency choose the sophomoric and juvenile Ms. Safo over the more eloquent and matured Mike Ocquaye Jnr.?

My timely and free advice to Madam Lawyer Adwoa Safo is that she should keep her mouth shut, especially when she doesn't know what the heck she's talking about. That way, she can fool her constituents and smooth your way to parliament without humiliation or exposing her childish tendencies and immaturity. Whatever you do, please keep a low profile and hope that most people don’t pry into your numerous indiscretions and lack of good judgement to uncover the real clueless 29-year old and the sheer mockery of your candidacy.
