A 28-year-old Okada rider, Michael Bacha has been killed by an unknown assailant at Gomoa Akoti in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Information gathered indicates that the one-week-old bridegroom was reportedly hired by a passenger to convey him to a nearby community and upon reaching a section of the road, snatched his motorbike and murdered him.
Officers from the Gomoa Ojobi Police Command who were notified of the incident conveyed the body to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for autopsy and preservation.
A devastated wife of the deceased Agnes Tawiah told Kasapa News that hours after she had called her husband she was not hearing from him anymore which left her very worried.
She said she continued calling her husband to find out where he was but to no avail until she received a call around 4 am informing her that her husband had been killed the previous night.
The Widow expressed shock over her husband’s murder as she’s not aware her husband had issues with anybody.
Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for Gomoa Ojobi and Gomoa Akoti Electoral Area, Hon. Jophery Inkum who condemned the incident lamented the increasing crime rate in the area.
He assured to ensure the establishment of a community watchdog committee to curb crime and further called on the residents to be security conscious.
