Dear President,

May the peace of God whom you serve be upon you. May He open your heart, mind, eyes and ears to absorb, comprehend, see and hear all that I have to tell you today, Saturday 9th July 2016, through His own abundant mercies and grace. Amen!

You are to see me as a citizen of Ghana who cares about the collective welfare of the people of Ghana and the prosperity of the nation but not your adverse critic or your enemy. I do always put the collective interests of the people above my personal, sectional or sectarian interests hence often expressing constructive criticisms about you in my publications.

I would like to convey to your attention the following gospel truth although you may not be happy about it. It is my duty as a vessel of God to tell you the bitter truth that you need to hear but not the sweet lies you wish or love to hear. In so doing, do I care if the bitterness of the truth makes you see me as an enemy rather than an intelligent and wise senior brother admonishing his wayward junior brother?

Please, muse on the following three intelligent quotes from Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding Fathers of America. He said, “Our enemies are our friends, our critics our friends, because they show us our faults”. Why do you, Mr President, and your supporters see those who criticise you, or your political rivals who constantly point out your weaknesses and faults in your management of Ghana to you, as your bitter enemies who deserve nothing better than death? Do you see any relevance in the view as expressed in the quote by Benjamin Franklin?

You are very much aware of the fact that you did not actually win Election 2012. It was rigged for you as everything bore witness to, especially during the live telecast of the Supreme Court proceedings on Election 2012 petition filed by Nana Akufo Addo, Dr Bawumia and the late Okanta Obestebi-Lamptey against the Electoral Commission and you.

For having successfully attempted to make God a liar, going against the revealed dreams by one Kofi Basoah of Asante Juaben that Nana Akufo Addo would win the election, do the ongoing hardships faced by Ghanaians under your administration and your cluelessness at the presidency not tell you something?

They should be enough to tell you that you were not the God’s designated one to be the President of Ghana. You were simply an opportunist but without the intelligence and wisdom to lead a people and a nation.

You are going to lose Election 2016 regardless of whatever collusive measures you will arrange with institutions like the Electoral Commission, the Police and the Armed Forces and the Peace Council, etc. to tip the balance in your favour.

You sit down, dine and plan with people who believe in peace before justice but not those who believe in justice before peace hence your infatuation with corruption and the distribution of the country’s wealth among that unfriendly clique of sycophants who continually feed you with falsehoods as against the reality on the ground.

I remember the late former Head of State, General I. K. Acheampong, secretly dispatching some friends and confidants to go out and mingle with the people to gather him information on the public’s view about his Supreme Military Council (SMC) government.

He was really a down to earth leader who wanted to do the best for Ghana regardless of how he had angered people by overthrowing the Progress Party (PP) Government of the late Dr K. A. Busia. However, these people returned to lie to him saying, “Everybody likes you and they are all praising you” whereas the opposite of their claim was the reality.

In the end, he was overthrown and executed by firing squad. If his friends had told him the truth, he might have changed course, done good things and might be alive today. This gives you a lot of food for thought.

“Mankind naturally and generally love to be flattered”, said Benjamin Franklin. Nonetheless, in the history of mankind, most leaders who succumbed to flattery lost their lives in the end.

Did King Herod (Acts 12:22) not meet his untimely death when he allowed himself to be flattered when the people gave him a great ovation, shouting, "It's the voice of a god, not of a man!" Instead of seeing himself as a mere creature of God to give the praises to God, he accepted the praises as though he was a god as erroneously proclaimed by the crowd. This angered God and he was instantly stricken down by an angel of God.

“Truth will be truth though it sometimes proves mortifying and distasteful”. The wind of change is blowing at such a great ferocious velocity that you cannot resist it no matter what you and your agents and assigns do. Charlotte Osei, Salifu Maase alias Mugabe, Alistair Nelson, Ako Gunn, Asiedu Nketia, Koku Ayindoho, and Fred Agbenyo et al cannot help it.

Those leaders, who had insanely resisted change when the occasion had called for, suffered fates they would not have met if they had understood the signs and seasons of the times.

If President Saddam Hussein of Iraq had vamoosed in peace when he saw the danger of the British/American Coalition Forces’ determination to kick him out of office, he would still be alive today. Same goes for President Muammar Gaddafi of Libya when the British and the French amassed their air power against him.

Mr President, for sour history not to repeat itself, I will advise you not to try to continue to underrate the intelligence and the resolve of the Ghanaian public to vote you out of power come election 2016, by colluding with the Electoral Commission and your teeming yobs to rig Election 2016.

Ghanaians are not ready to cope a minute with the hardships you have intentionally brought to bear upon them come Election 2016. Therefore, be mindful of the false information your close friends and those misfits you have employed keep feeding you with, just for what they stand to gain.

Finally, I say, “It does not belong to he who is leading to redirect their steps”. As I stand to gain nothing from you, because I don’t seek to, because I don’t walk with my stomach, I have told you nothing but the absolute unpalatable truth. Take it, and you will be well but if you ignore my advice, you do so at your own peril.

By my intuition, God is determined to boot you out of the presidency by all means possible. Do not deceive yourself so that you will not be deceived. You have done a lot of harm to Ghanaians so much so that God is angry with you hence all the problems that your government is beset with. How much corruption have you not got yourself involved in? Consider yourself a goner!

Yours Faithfully,

Rockson Adofo
