Dear Mr. President,

As you approach the end of your presidency in July 2025, I urge you to prioritize a legacy of free and fair elections in Ghana’s 2024 poll. Your commitment to this ideal will not only solidify Ghana’s democratic growth but also ensure a peaceful transfer of power.

You publicly pledged and assured the international community of free, fair, and transparent elections during the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2024. I implore you to remain steadfast in this promise, recognizing that the international community and your fellow citizens are watching. Ghana's stability is crucial to regional peace and security, and your leadership will set a vital precedent.

Your presidency was made possible by a peaceful transfer of power, and it’s essential that you reciprocate this gesture, ensuring a smooth handover to your successor. This selfless act will cement your legacy as a champion of democracy and a true statesman.

To navigate the electoral process effectively, consider guaranteeing every citizen’s voice is heard through a transparent and credible voting process, maintaining impartial security forces to prevent violence or intimidation, and acknowledging and respecting the election outcomes, peacefully relinquishing power to the winner.

Mr. President, your actions will shape Ghana’s future. I urge you to resist any temptation to undermine the electoral process, foster an environment conducive to peaceful polls, and engage with stakeholders to address potential conflicts. By embracing these principles, you will solidify Ghana’s democratic foundations and inspire generations to come. Your legacy will be one of peace, stability, and commitment to the well-being of the Ghanaian people.

Sincerely

E-Signed

Comrade Hamza Mohammed Sheriff (Ph.D. in View)
