Over 1 million reasons to vote for change

1. The unlawful arrest of citizens who wanted cleaner water. Millions of pensioners whose pension benefits were cut off. Millions of citizens who lost their monies and jobs through the banking sector clean-up.

2. 850,000 human lives who were pushed down the poverty lines.

3. A staggering $3.6 billion was spent on cleaning up the banking sector. How could the NPP spend Ghc 22 billion on collapsing banks when those banks needed only Ghe 9 billion in liquidity support to survive?

4. Over 500 excavators, valued at approximately $50 million, seized from illegal miners have gone missing. The sale of contaminated fuel led to a loss of GH¢5 million by BOST.

5. The NPP has pushed more people into poverty while imposing taxes such as the e-levy, Covid levy, betting tax, emission levy, and taxes on sanitary pads. They have collapsed banks and businesses, leading to significant job losses.

6. The economy is struggling with excessive debt of over Ghc 800 billion, which they only inherited Ghc 120 billion in 2017 (the total debt of all previous governments over 50 years).

7. The cedi has depreciation immensely, now the exhange rate is Ghc17 to $1 when it was just Ghc 4 in 2016. Inflation skyrocketed to 54% in 2022, making goods unaffordable. Our debt to GPD is more than 100%. Bank of Ghana has consistently recorded debt during the tenure of the NPP.

8. Cecilia Dapaah (Minister) keeping millions of dollars under her bed. The Agyapadie (state capture) document, NAPO stole crude oil worth $2.5 million at the port, Bawumia’s Ramadan rice and the PDS scandal.

9. $58 million was spent on digging a hole in the name of a cathedral project. A $178 million contract for real-time revenue monitoring was awarded to a ghost company Kelni GVG. Nana Addo awarding a $34,0000,000 ambulance contract to his daughter and her boyfriend. 81 million paid for vaccines that were never supplied. Shortage of vaccines for children while the President was flying luxurious private jets.

10. Resources are in jeopardy. The country's environment is suffering due to galamsey activities backed by government machinery. They sacked Prof. Frimpong Boateng for exposing their dishonesty in the fight against galamsey.

11. Students of PRESEC and other schools were fed 15,000 50kg bags of expired re-packaged rice meanwhile GH¢2.3 million overpaid to caterers in School Feeding Programme in 2022.

12. ⁠National Cathedral workers received monthly payments despite suspension of project, $15 million was spent on feeding athletes during African Games. 120 containers of malaria and TB meds freely donated to Ghana left to rot. Kelni GVG contract signed and approved by Ursula Owusu involving the award of US$89 million, which is a duplication and drain on the public purse. The Pwalugu Dam Project and the payment of $11.9million to contractors by the Bank of Ghana for no work done.

13. The government still owes allowances to NABCO trainees, nurses, and teacher trainees. They owe the IPPs and have underinvested in the energy sector, yet they remain arrogant when there was Dumsor.

14. The unemployment rate is at 14.7%, while they continue to lie that they created over 2 million jobs that can not be traced. They told us the payroll is full while they were putting their children at juicy positions, there was a freeze on sake of IMF bailout. Declining agricultural output and high importation.

15. A SIM card costs Ghc 120, whereas it was Ghc 2 under John Dramani Mahama. A bag of cement costs more than Ghc 100, not to mention fuel prices and food prices. Ghana Card even costs Ghc 850... how ridiculous!

16. They have created infrastructure deficits in the education, health, and transport sectors. During Covid, they mismanaged the stabilization funds and the heritage funds set up by John Mahama to cater for businesses during catastrophe and the development of future generations when the petroleum reserve is being depleted respectively.

17. They shared funds meant for Covid relief: $1 billion donated by the World Bank, $100 million donated by the IMF, and Ghc 38 million donated by Ghanaians and Ghanaian businesses among their family members and party affiliates. Sole-source contracts awarded to friends and associates of the government. Frontiers Healthcare Services generated over $16 million from allegedly overpriced COVID-19 tests at the airport.

18. There are constitutional crises, judicial manipulation, and injustices. They killed people during the 2020 elections and didn't investigate. They arrested citizens including aged and children when we demonstrated to register our displeasure. Reduced confidence in the Judiciary and the reduction in the global Rule of Law Index

19. Family and Friends Governance witnessed under the Akufo Addo-Bawumia Government. Aggyapa deal. Candidate Bawumia has no credibility and integrity. Contracts for sale. Widespread of misinformation and disinformation.

20. Attack on Journalists and Ghana's reduction on the Press Freedom Index, youth unemployment is 15%, VAT has increased. High utility bills. High cost of living. High internet data subscription.

He then stated many reasons why the NDC is the best alternative and why it must win this election, some of which include a better track record, credibility, and outstanding policies, especially the 24-Hour Economy, the National Women Development Bank, stress-free fees for tertiary education, the National Apprenticeship Program, one million youth in coding, reducing the size of government, free primary healthcare, recovering all looted funds, enhancing education, energy efficiency, and agriculture.
