Parliamentarians have been recalled from recess and expected to converge on Parliament House beginning Monday, 24 September 2018.
Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mik Oquaye noted in a press statement that the legislators are expected to debate some important bills.
“In exercise of the power conferred on the Speaker by order 42 (3) of the standing orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, Speaker of Parliament, do hereby direct that Parliament shall not withstanding anything to the contrary, be recalled from recess to sit from Monday, 24 September 2018 to Friday, 28 September 2018 at 10 o’clock in the forenoon each day, at Parliament House, Accra, to consider among others, some urgent parliamentary businesses,” the statement said.
Among the bills to be debated is the Right to Information (RTI) Bill, which could not be passed during the last session before recess.
