President Dramani Mahama Is A Congenital Hypocrite

Thu, 15 Oct 2015 Source: Sarpong, Justice

Just about a week ago, President Mahama during the United Nations 70th Conference in New York, USA was all praises and leading a chorus of pompom wavers about how the Roman Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis modesty in riding in a small fiat car should be an example the world leaders should emulate. This is what President Mahama said at that time;

"Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama has told the world it can learn a "powerful lesson" from Pope Francis' simplicity when he opted to ride in a "tiny Fiat 500" on the streets of New York on his visit to the US.The Pontiff became the toast of the world after leaving the airplane in Maryland in a tiny Black Fiat to embark on a trip in the US. His simple lifestyle despite the office he holds has caught the attention of Mahama."

It is really good our President in his espial of the Pope is advising the World leaders to learn a powerful lesson from the Pope's modesty. The only problem here is that it is People like President Mahama and his African leaders friends who should learn a lesson of modesty from the Pope. This speech from President Mahama is hypocritical because he cannot preach virtue and practice vice.

Fast backwards to what happened before President Mahama embarked on his journey to USA. Three months ago, a presidential press corps travelling with President John Dramani Mahama was involved in an accident resulting in the death of one journalist and another critically injured. President Mahama travels like an Arab potentate with a convoy of cars that will put any Arab ruler to shame with a retinue of useless praise singers for commissioning of projects like a high school building that should be done by District Chief Executives. Such jejune behavior should be a thing of the past and this tumescent public display by our President is disgraceful.

A lot of Ghanaians thought President Mahama has learned a thing or two from observing the Pope's modesty and will mend his ways when he returns to Ghana by cutting down on the Presidential convoy that sometimes have about thirty V8 SUV vehicles blowing dust to pedestrians on our dusty roads. Did President Mahama take his own advice when he told the world leaders to emulate the Pope's modesty? The answer is a big NO. He still rides in his V8 SUV which we are not even asking him to abandon for a Toyota Camry but to reduce his Presidential convoy.This is what even Kwesi Pratt, a Mahama praise singer and chief pompom waver for the President said immediately another Journalist was injured in a Presidential convoy.

"Fleet Of Cars In Prez Convoy Too Many..& Speed Is 'Totally Crazy' - Pratt"

Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has questioned the procession of vehicles that travel with the President on assignments. Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt was of a strong view that the long fleet of vehicles that accompany the President's convoy is unnecessary.

President Mahama's obstreperous gesture in New York just a week ago is hypocritical just to elicit praises. He does not believe in what he says. On Monday, 12th October, 2015, another group of media personnel, this time a regional team attached to the presidential convoy were also involved in an accident in the Western Region. The accident reportedly occurred as the team was returning from the region after commissioning a new Senior High School.

Why do we Ghanaians allow our Politicians to take us for ride by their empty blomides which this President has perfected into an art and has no shame engaging in it just to make good speeches without any intention of practicing what he preaches.

As we say in Texas, President Mahama is all hat without cows and nothing is going to change even if we give him ten more years to rule the country.
