President Mills, Don't Forget Little Sam

Sat, 7 May 2011 Source: Sarpong, Justice

, Your Son

President Mills picked his nomination forms to compete for the NDC Presidential candidate on Thursday May 5th. As a political junkie who absorb and keep political events in perspective, I will like to remind President Mills not to forget his son when filling that form. I have not seen one of the NDC nomination forms but I can bet that there is a section in there where one has to give details about his or her family members name, like wife, husband and children.

President Mills, intentionally failed to acknowledge his son, Little Sam when filling his forms in 2000 for the Presidency. The forms in question asked the Presidential candidates to list the names of their children if they have one and Mills failed to list any children thereby denying little Sam as Peter denied Jesus Christ. I know President Mills like to portray himself as a man of God but you cannot be a man of God when you abandon your own son. A man who care less about his own blood cannot be a caring President as President Mills is flummoxing Ghanaians to believe. Mills failed to dandle little Sam when he was a baby or a young boy when he banished him from his house and sent him away to live with his sister in Cape Coast denying him a fatherly love.

Mr President, my message to you on this day is to remind you that, little Sam is a young man in London now and might not need any material things from you because he did not get them when he needed them as a boy but forging a closer relationship may go a long way to the abandonment he went through as a child and Ghanaians will appreciate it if you will at least bring him close to your campaign to show a human face to your campaign as a family man. Little Sam deserves a fatherly love and it is not too late to show him one.

You might be at loggerheads with the Rawlingses but at least Rawlings plugged you from obscurity as a University Lecturer to be his Vice-President, at least that is love from Rawlings which you have denied your own flesh and blood. Though your polymorphous from a University Lecturer to President has not been smooth sailing since you have failed in your first twenty eight months in office to distinguish yourself with any meaningful achievement.

Maybe the challenge from Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings who picked her forms accompanied by two of her children will anneal you and give you an opportunity to rid yourself of the reputation of you being aloof, slow, soft and yin. Mr President, my short message to you is to take care of your only son, Good luck.
