A 'plucky' self-styled social commentato by name Alexander Adu-Gyamfi today called President Mills as a "Chimpanzee", this is really uncalled for and all peace loving Ghanaians irrespective of party affiliation should condemn such infantile puerile sophomoric nonsense. President Mills has so far respected our rights of freedom of speech and we should reciprocate by respecting him, even if not personally, we should respect the office he occupies.

The said Adu-Gyamfi is said to be an NPP sympathizer and I really feel ashamed by his conduct. We NPPians have to conduct ourselves as refined people unlike the NDCians who called President Kuffour as Monkey, baboon, Frog and Chimp.

“To me he looks like a ‘chimpanzee’….. I tell you, when I look at Atta Mills he looks like a ‘chimpanzee’”, those were the exact words used by "High Priest" in his description of the first gentleman"

That is the exact words uttered by Adu-Gyamfi.No human being should be compared to a chimp or a monkey and this, the NDCians have themselves to blame for showing disrespect to former President Kuffour by comparing him to a monkey and I believe this man learned his behaviour by imitating the NDCians.

It was reported that, the NDC supporters besieged the radio station where Mr Adu-Gyamfi made his comments and a timely intervention by the Police averted an ugly scene. When are these NDC Azorka Zongo morons going to stop their primitive behaviour of always trying to mete their jungle justice to anybody who says something they don't agree with? Was it not the same fools who were calling President Kuffour as a monkey? When is the leadership of NDC going to rein their akpeteshie and pito swilling morons in and teach them how to behave?

The Police service did a fine job in protecting Mr Adu-Gyamfi's right to say whatever he feels and that should have been the end of the matter but they have to arrest him on a charge of offensive conduct contrary to Sections 207 of the Criminal Code. OFFENSIVE CONDUCT? When did it become a crime to insult somebody? Where were the Police when Rawlings, Ama Benyiwa doe, Koku Anyidoho were calling President Kuffour names like Ata Ayi, monkey and baboon?

Though I don't agree with what Mr Adu-Gyamfi did, there is no crime committed here. Insulting another person by calling him or her as a monkey or a chimpanzee is not a crime anywhere in the world unless you live in communist North Korea or Cuba where insulting the leader of those countries is deemed as a capital crime. Ghana is not a dictatorial state but a democracy and we should learn to abide by its democratic tenets.

Nana Darkwa was arrested on the same flimsy offensive conduct charges when he accused Rawlings of torching his own residence which might be true since everything was ruled out as the cause of that fire except arson. When is NDC and their Police going to respect the rights of the people?

Mr Adu-Gyamfi's conduct was reprehensible, morally deficient and a disgrace to himself and his family but he committed no crime.
