The headline below piqued my interest and after reading it, I thought an article is in order to brief the masses the kind of "I care for you" government they voted for. ___________________________________________________________
Victim In Mills' Convoy Incident: I'll Seek Legal Action Against Gov't For Neglect
Date: 15-May-2010 ----KOFI DUODO---- ______________________________________________________
The recent junket by 'Professor President' Mills to Central Region in March nearly ended in tragedy as the Presidential motorcade hit a pedestrian, one Kofi Duodo and rendered him incapacitated temporary. According to sources, President Mills promised to take care of Mr Duodo's medical bills but has so far rebuffed Mr Duodo who was the chairman of Pedu taxi station in Cape Coast. Mr Duodo is now threatening legal action against the President and his government.
Mr Duodo received GHc500 from the government to cover his initial hospital bill but is still left with GHc891.81 in medical bills and a personal cost of GHc666 to rehabilitate him. Mr Duodo still need medical care and has hospital appointments but is afraid to go since he doesn't know where to get money to pay for his medical bills due to the feet dragging by the President and his staff. This man is not even asking for future medical bills and pain and suffering compensation from the government and he is still being given the run around by Mills NDC administration. "ASOMDWEHENE" really do care for us.
Since Ms Ama Benyiwa Doe, the Central Regional Minister was in the convoy that was involved in this accident and the Executive head of the Central Region, Mr Duodo alleged that, he was advised to seek her and went to see her about his predicament and got the shock of his life when Madam Regional Minister Mrs. Benyiwa Doe asked him to go and look for the motor rider who knocked him down at Adisadel in Cape Coast. Fellow Ghanaians, this is the "ASOMDWEHENE" I care for you government you voted into power.
This government approved $50,000 to each Member of Parliament to buy a new car with an unearned ex-gratia as a colateral but has no money to pay for less than $3,000 in medical bills for a Joe Blow because he is a proletariat and not a member of the Bourgeoisie. If Mr Duodo was a member of Parliament, a Minister or Deputy Minister or a family member of the ruling class, he would have been flown out of the country to seek medical care but as a hoi polloi, his life is not worth anything to this fake socialist I care for you NDC administration. The 'fool soldiers' of NDC ought to sit down and deliberate on their stupiditiesbefore they experience what Mr Duodo is going through.
Mr "ASOMDWEHENE" President was too 'humanitarian' enough to send $3 million to Haiti to care for the victims of the Earthquake but cannot come up with about $3,000 to take care of a victim of his own motorcade. I am begining to doubt if Mills was sincere with a heartfelt sorrow when he sent the $3 million dollars to Haiti or it was just a political grandstanding.
This President gave $5 million dollars to Rawlings and his wife to operate their cocoa Processing Factory but can't come up with $3,000 dollars to pay for a citizen's medical bill, a bill which he is responsible for. Let's imagine if the victim was one of the Rawlings children, would he be dragging his feet to pay this bill? Sorry, Mills would have turned the treasury of Ghana to Rawlings to take care of the said injured child.
Rawlings lost his house in a fire incident about 4:AM on Feb. 14th and the President in his Chief of Staff were tripping over each other to get to his house and made it there before 6:AM in his scoobie-Doo pyjamas and consoled him in a fire incident that might have been deliberately set but Kofi Duodo did not even receive a Presidential aide visit at the hospital, yea, this is really a government for the Rich, by the Rich and not an I care for you government for the hoi polloi.
One of President Mills deputy Ministers lost his wife in a child birth mystery and the President immediately decided to form a committee to look into the incident, which I do agree with because a life was cut short and a committee to investigate and find out what the problem is to avert a future occurance was in order, why can't the President show the same concern to this "MR NOBODY DUODO"?
The Member of Parliament for Cape Coast,Mr Ebo Barton-Odro, has asked Duodo to petition the President for the issue to be addressed. Why should he petition the President for his medical bills that can be easily verified? What are the numerous Presidential aides there for? Is Alex Segbefia so busy stealing cars with his acolyte Carl Wilson he can't take care of this? What about fat boy Koku Anyidoho? What is he doing that he can't address this small problem? He is fighting his father's imaginary foes he is sleeping on the job.
Mr Duodo said this in tears when he went on air:
“How can she say that to me(SHE HERE IS REFERRING TO AMA BAYIFUO DOE) when the same motor which crippled me was leading their convoy? I’m an NDC sympathiser so if they are doing this to me how much more an NPP person?” he lamented. He indicated that he was asked to report again at the hospital; but because government had refused to pay the first bill, he could not go for the second treatment. He expressed concern about the way the former Central Regional Propaganda Secretary, Allotey Jacobs, went on air calling him a liar when he (Allotey) had personally visited him at home to beg him not to let the issue go public since President Mills was ready to cater for him."
People, that is the "I CARE FOR YOU GOVERNMENT" government you voted into office.
