Putin's Troops Withdrawal: Lesson for Africa

Putin 9 Vladimir Putin

The military overthrew the civilian government in Burkina Faso, with an alibi of an ineffective strategic plan to stem activities of Islamic insurgence. Only last week, over 300 military and civilians were slaughtered in the north last week.

To worsen the situation, is the decision of Vladimir Putin to, with immediate effect, recall all Russian troops sent to assist Burkina Faso with its fight against Islamists and provide personal protection for the military leader Ibrahim Troare.

Bear brigade:

At a short pre-departure ceremony, the leader of this special Russian force called the BEAR BRIGADE, said at a time when their country is at war, the best thing to do is to go back home to defend their country. They have left Troare in bitter the cold.

This, therefore, should tell these military coupists, and to some extent, the civilian leaders of Africa that, no foreign government, particularly in the global north, has our interests at heart, in the arena of global geopolitics.

Russia loses:

The reason for Putin's withdrawal of these Russian troops is to be deployed to the battlefield against Ukraine, as a result of recent losses and dwindling numbers of personnel. It is estimated that over 200 Russian troops are slaughtered daily.

With recruitment and sending to the battlefield, of thousands of hardcore prisoners, including murderers, sexual offenders, and HIV and hepatitis A sufferers, with just 3-week military training, Putin appears to be on the back foot, hence, the drastic move.

ECOWAS coups:

When military coups swept across the ECOWAS region, ignoramuses in Ghana jubilated and wished for the same to happen here. But the setbacks on battlefields against Islamic Islamic insurgence have escaped our noise-makers.

The totally confused characters masquerading as security experts and always engaged in groundless fear-mongering are no longer being heard on the egregious degeneration of the security situation in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. Punks!!

Totalitarianism:

For those of us who have been around here in Ghana, lived and experienced military coups with its concomitant totalitarianism, the worse form of democratic governance will forever remain light-years ahead, as the best alternative.

Admittedly, some civilian governments have been found wanting but at least, we have the liberty to make noise and even insult them from dawn to dusk. But you do the same under a military dictator, and your continued existence will be in peril.

We have had a history in Ghana where over 442 innocent citizens miraculously disappeared into thin air, between 1981 and 192, under the PNDC tyrannical regime. So I'm always taken aback when I hear people wet fantasies about military coups.

Ageing Japan:

Well, in other news, 40,000 Japanese died alone in their homes in the first 6 months of 2024, with the bodies of some discovered months later. It's symptomatic of an aging society where there are not enough youth to cater to their aged families.

The lack of dwindling numbers in the youth population is due to Japanese men's poor virility in between the sheets to ginger procreation. And there's an enticing policy of the State reward of $20,000 to couples that get pregnant.

I wish the Japanese government would come up with a recruitment scheme to enable our men to grab the opportunity to exhibit matchless prowess in the area of procreation, and their dwindling youth population will see a sudden spike.
