RE: Good Article For Our International Communities To Read

Fri, 31 Dec 2010 Source: Yegbe, Wisdom

I must start by saying thank you to Kwame Opoku-Berchie whose article I really

enjoyed and writing in support of his article.

My brother I really admired and enjoyed the analysis of the events regarding our

neighbouring country Ivory Coast. Ghana stands the chance to resist any military

action in that country. Remember the so called ECOWAS and its parent AU are just

full of cohorts who do not think for themselves but only dance to the tune of USA,

UN and the EU. They see Africans as animals hence their quick decision to take

military action if Gbagbo refuses to step down. They are the same organisations that

referred to Allassane Outara as a rebel leader when he formed his own army in the

north of Ivory Coast to fight Gbagbo. Only France supported him (Allassane).

We argue on the same issue among ourselves here in the UK and it seems to have some

Nigerian friends to support the military action. We must understand that the only

thing Nigeria understands is violence because they live with it daily in their

country. Their leaders are the ones we feared to have accepted some form of bribe to

engineer military action against Ivorians. Imagine the number of innocent people to

be killed and the burden Ghana would carry with regard to refugees. I urge the

countries surrounding Ivory Coast to refused their territories to be used as

military bases to attack innocent Ivorians. They are not even telling us how long it

would take to remove Gbagbo and en stool Outara, and the subsequent rebuilding of

that country. The saying says that if your neighbour's house is on fire and you do

not help in time your house may also be burnt. They are our neighbours so we need

dialogue to solve this issue rather than military action. That's

all Nigeria leaders are waiting for( listen to their pay masters to destroy their

neighbours. Shame on them. I was surprised to hear that the USA president

congratulated the Nigerian president for championing the Ivorian crises

resolutions. The UN is supposed to be a mediator in our countries but they were the

first to congratulate Allassane. The Kenyan prime minister was quick to ask for

military removal of Gbagbo and yet the AU delegated him to meet with Gbagbo. This

is childish approach to the current issue in Ivory Coast. Same people have already

taken side so what solution are they expecting from them and our ECOWAS leading

country Nigeria. The only language Nigeria leaders understand is killing to make

money. Who says Nigeria loves peace whilst they fail to maintain peace in their own

country.

Why can't they just cancel the election results and the ECOWAS, AU, EU, USA and the

UN take charge of fresh election in that country to prevent war. They just want

their TV stations to focus on yet another war in Africa. That's what makes them

happy. Our leaders should know better and resolve issues before they even get worse.

Nigeria had the most fraudulent election in history according to EU and other

observers. Even the late president Umaru Yaradura said it himself. Opposition

parties have their leaders killed before the announcement of the results but no AU,

ECOWAS, USA, EU and UN cautioned Nigeria. We are waiting again for the next April

election in Nigeria. Can someone tell me how many innocent candidates have already

died in various states of Nigeria but the so called international organisations as

well as ECOWAS and AU are silent over it? Are they telling us that those matters are

not problems in the region. They should stop being selective when it comes to

Africa issues.

My brother stay blessed and happy new year.
