RE: Tamale South Constituency of NDC in Crisis

Fri, 11 Oct 2013 Source: Mahamadu, Sulemana

The attention of the executives of the Tamale South Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)has been drawn to a publication on your widely read website on Tuesday the 8th of October 2013, by a certain Ziyaba Yakubu, which sought to portray the NDC and its hard working Member of Parliament in bad light.

Firstly; he stated that the recently held branch elections in the Constituency were characterised with acrimony and rancour leading to some party members in the Constituency petitioning Constituency, Regional and National executives of the party to intervene, but we wish to state emphatically that the branch elections in the Tamale South Constituency were conducted in a free and fair manner without interferance from Any quarters and as such there is no protest by anybody as this facelss ziyaba Yakubu seeks to portray.

Secondly;the said Ziyaba also lied with his teeth when he stated that some ward and branch executives in the Constituency have resign from their positions, again, we the Constituency executives wish to state that there has not been even a single resignation from any branch or ward executive.

Lastly, this wicked lia laughably said the MP for the area, the ubiquitous and widely acclaimed hardworking Hon. Haruna Iddrisu had for than four years not visited his constituents. But on the contrary, members of the Constituency who have lived long enough often attest to the fact that since Ghana`s Independence, no MP from the area has frequented and is able to bring more development to the Constituency than Hon. Haruna Iddrsu, for instance, there were more than fourty-eight Communities /villages in the Constituency without electricity before he became MP in 2005, but due to his hard work and commitment to his constituents, all but just six of these communities would be left without electricity by the end of this year.

We thretfore urge all members, supporters and sympathizers of the party both inside and outside the Constituency to ignore doom mongers like Ziyaba Yakubu and his likes as all the issues he raised are concoctions and a figment of his imagination.

Thank you.
