GSE In Active Trading Session

Accra, March 10, GNA - A positive active session on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Wednesday posted significant gains for the local bourse pushing the GSE All-Share Index up 90.53 points to close at 5,112.10 points.

It had earlier closed at 5,021.57 points during Tuesday's trading. Total shares traded on the broad market, however, slumped significantly to 24,100 compared to Tuesday's 664,000 shares. SSB Bank led gainers with 470 cedis closing at 24,500 cedis. However, only 1,300 shares were traded.

The Produce Buying Company was the second highest gainer with 296 cedis to finish trading higher at 3,750 cedis Ghana Commercial Bank fixed higher at 13,600 cedis making 200 cedis in the process while Fan Milk Limited and HFC Bank made 100 cedis each to close mid-week trading at 5,100 and 7,600 cedis each. Other gainers were Guinness Ghana Limited, which went up by 44 cedis and Mechanical Lloyd Company, which made 26 cedis to end at 940 cedis.

British American Tobacco inched up by five cedis to end at 6,270 cedis while CFAO made three cedis to end at 85 cedis.

Cocoa processing Company and Mobil Oil Ghana Limited made a cedi each to close trading at 36,502 cedis and 908, respectively.

Market capitalization finished at 16,533.68 billion cedis from 3,077.06 million issued shares. It closed at 16,325 billion cedis on Tuesday.
