Rawlings The Menace Screeches Puts Mills In A Catch 22

Wed, 17 Mar 2010 Source: Poku, Kwadwo

As an objective contributor to this forum, one of the parallels that seems to be a commonality amongst fellow writers is Raising Cain about pressing issues that deems atrocious to our fragile democracy. Today one of the issues is the political ambivalence that has morphed to be a thorn in the side of Attah Mills .Those of us who opposed his candidacy, did so knowing perfectly well the role of Rawlings the menace in his administration should Mills win.

Obviously the election is over, the outcome fait accompli, but the menace would not be denied of his role as we have suspected all along. His condescending perception of Ghanaians makes him think without him we won't breathe, and all he does is to spew trash from the cauldrons of his brain. His problem with Mills in his estimation, is solely due to the lack of prosecutorial approach in bringing every NPP member to book. Anything shy of that means Mills will go down and they (he and his devotees) will not go with him. Sometimes I wonder how Ghanaians allowed this Rawlings the menace to fan fool for 20 yrs with his devoid of common sense, but I'm cognizant of the fact that he did so by the gun. He thinks his role as the titular head of the NDC, makes him the sole advisor to Attah Mills, and that puts Mills in a catch 22 (doomed if he does, doomed if he doesn't).

In her inaugural address of the NDC committee members his wife ( AKwele Wang U) said one of the goals for 2012 is to improve the lives of Ghanaians and another is to bring jobs. What risible goals these are. For 20 yrs did this redundant tag team know about a better life and jobs for Ghanaians or they know about them now that Mills is President? What an exercise in futility it is to hear the blabs of empty barrels. Is Mills waiting for 2012 to improve the life's of Ghanaians or it was just a placation of an oxy moronic statement? I hope the former is not the case.

Mr president your stoic approach to this cross breed whose only achievements were to end innocent lives and ruin the lives of countless many will not help you in any way, shape ,matter or form. See him for what he's worth. He is an unrepentant admitted taker of innocent lives, a toothless dog and a thorn in your side. And it's about time you stood toe to toe to this menace, look him straight in the eye and tell him to go to blazes. All he is doing is holding your re-election bid hostage by threatening not to release his disciples who continue to Deify this imbecilic dictator by calling him junior Jesus. To hell with that should that happen.

Gradually Ghanaians are warming up to your leadership, and as your political capital increases, weaning yourself off this menace becomes all the more easy. The fear of being sabotaged in 2012 will leave you in this catch 22 for the rest of your term whiles the screeches of Rawlings the menace continues to be a thorn in you side, and that alone is a rallying cry for your political opponents to galvanize themselves. A word to the wise will always be enough.
