Rebuttal: Koku Anyidoho’s attack on Dr. Hanna Bisiw-Kotei is ‘Exhibit A’ of Adult Cognitive Retardation

Folks, I was totally dumbfounded and still in disbelief to have read an article published on GhanaWeb on Saturday, July 6, 2024, titled “Arrogance laced with disregard: Koku Anyidoho blasts Hanna Bissiw for walking off the live TV show.”   In the said publication, the political residue called Koku Anyidoho referred to the venerable Dr. (Mrs.) Hanna Bisiw-Kotei as an “arrogant” person who had “disrespected Ghanaians” for “walking off a live TV show.”

According to my outcast brother, “Gbeha” Koku, he “clinched” at that incident and further accused JDM of nurturing “venomous vipers” who are likely to “mar his electoral fortunes.”

Mr. Anyidoho, I certainly do not know where you granted that interview; neither do I know what you smoked prior to making those comments nor did I know what hallucinogen you sniffed or gulped before the interview. However, I will infer with absolute sincerity that you may have visited one of those autolytic media houses where the kinsmen mostly hail you for exhibiting your usual “chromosome 21” defective traits.

Hence, your perception of elementary courtesies, principles, uprightness, and assertiveness in humility as “arrogance”! Certainly, that blatant illusionary and narcissistic verbosity could only sprout from the lips of a non-cultured bigot who is completely out of touch with reasonable realities!

One might ask, What “crime” at all did Dr. (Mrs.) Hanna Bisiw-Kotei commit in the hallucinated ears and screwed mind of Koku Anyidoho for his vile vituperations? I explain below:

Two national women’s organizers from different political parties were scheduled for a TV discussion. The TV station duly informed each member of the time, date, topics, and the opposing panel. On the scheduled day, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei (the NDC National Women’s Organizer) appeared in the studio only to realize that her counterpart, Mad. Kate Gyamfuah, from the NPP, was missing. Instead, she delegated her deputy to debate Dr. Bisiw-Kotei. The producers of the program did not give prior notification of the sudden changes.

Indeed, we are humans and not immune to unexpected occurrences. However, one would expect at least a whisper on the changes from the organizers to accord a modicum of respect to Dr. Bisiw-Kotei; if indeed, that omission was not perpetrated from an orchestrated blueprint.

It is worth noting that, for her obedience and respect to viewers, Hanna Bisiw appeared on the show, commenced the program, verbalized her displeasure politely to the host, and expressed her disinterest in continuing the program since there was a breach. She emphasized that she has nothing against her opponent’s deputy organizer but rather feels ambushed by such developments.

The NDC Women’s Organizer then apologized to viewers and excused herself. The producers and even the deputy organizer validated her decision in good faith and apologized to Dr. Bisiw-Kotei in return.

Fellow readers, please be my judge. Which sane mind will see wrong in this act? And what magnitude of hatred would justify disgruntled Koku Anyidoho labeling Dr. Bisiw as “venomous vipers”? Efo Koku, you had tasted breastmilk before I started searching for the nipple; however, I entreat you to unlock your senses for a little wisdom:   Do you know that in a debate or a panel discussion, it is imperative for one to be conversant with the topic(s), environment, moderator, and, to a greater extent, even one’s opponent?   Yes, having knowledge about the background, delivery style, values, and ideology of a debater’s rival would help him/her adequately prepare intellectually, psychologically, and even physically for the counters. Therefore, Dr. Bisiw-Kotei was unapologetically right to excuse herself when her advertised counterpart failed to show up. It could be (and I have every reason to believe so) that maybe her cues and missiles might have been customized and lubricated purposely to soften Kate Gyamfua during their debate but not her deputy, even though Hanna Bisiw is always ready to take on anyone, anytime, anywhere!

Furthermore, I swear by the last hair on my scalp that you honestly knew the worth and might of “Hanna Bisiw," but you were merely being mischievous, or perhaps your irrational logorrhea was a tactical one to court attention for the gratification of your stomach linings. Otherwise, you will not bypass your vice presidential candidate, who just climbed the lame “elephant” and settled on Hanna Bisiw in your search for “arrogance”!

Efo, we knew you had already sold your right-thinking thought processes for a pittance, but I want to remind you with these Ewe adages: “buye-buye” (modesty) in dignity is far better than triple-sized “buyɛ-buyɛ” (opulence) in dishonesty and betrayal. A good name is always better than ill-gotten riches!

Finally, let it permeate your consciousness that even your latter-day admirer, “King Kong Nadaa” whom you once chastised for his ineptitude and “arrogance” also pleaded to Ghanaians to remain “Citizens” but not “Spectators”. Therefore, which of the “galamsey-polluted” rivers did you throw your conscience before attacking an experienced and smarter “Citizen” who had outwitted your shenanigan trap cladded in red, blue, and white colors?

Senior, for my respect and reverence to your gallant Father, I will pause here for now. But let it sink deep in your head that there are times when birds eat ants, and equally, there are other seasons when ants feast on birds too! Stick to your “medicines” and refrain from advertising your cognitive disability in public.

Assuredly, the dance will change when the drumbeat changes, and the real “heads” shall “row” one day!
