.... December 24th revolution

Compatriots,

In his speech on the anniversary of the June 4th coup that first imposed him as leader of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), former PNDC-NDC leader JJ Rawlings said (JJ Rawlings Breaks Silence, Says Kufour and Mills Only Reversed Ghana’s Achievement,http://ghanaiansentinel.com/2013/06/03/jj-rawlings-breaks-silence-says-kufour-and-mills-only-reversed-ghanas-achievement/):

'Let us demand more from our leaders, including myself, in terms of probity and accountability. Let us protect those values every day in our schools and workplaces by refusing to go along with lying, cheating, thieving and injustice but instead stand up for truth, justice, fairness, respect for each other and love for our beautiful country.'

My questions are simple: when will he speak the real truth? When will he denounce the IMF-SAP he imposed on Ghana that has resulted in himself, ex-presidents John Atta Mills, John A. Kufour and now Mahama, selling all Ghana's key export commodities (gold, diamond, oil, manganese, cocoa, Ghana Telecom, GIHOC Industries, Ghana Airways, etc) to IMF-SAP and western corporate globalisation? When will he denounce his incestuous buying of state-owned factories his wife and him 'divested' on the instructions of his IMF masters?

When will JJ Rawlings spare serious political observers his trade mark hypocrisy, of always riding on the well-beaten donkey of so-called 'June 4th Revolution' or 31st December Revolution, to sermonise and bamboozle and render politically hyperactive the abject poor, ignorant and powerless millions of Ghanaian toilers who cannot afford decent meals, schooling, public health, transport, housing, etc?

Considering he has emerged from a mere Fl. Lt in the Ghana Air Force to one of Ghana's 10 richest US$ billionaires (along with the Kufours and Akufo-Addo), he should bury his head in shame every time he insults the intelligence of the Ghanaian/African people like that!

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Gamal Nasser, Patrice Lumumba, Amilcar Cabral, Samora Machel, Malcolm Shabazz, Kwame Toure, Nanni De Maroon, Hugh P. Newton, Muammar Gadaffi, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Walter Rodney, Amilcar Cabral and Thomas Sankara, would have been extremely ashamed of a turn-coat revolutionary like Rawlings, who has a penchant for self-consciously con-tricking the Ghanaian/African people two anniversaries in a year!

Regards.
