How the Minister of DIS-information, Ghana NPP Agency (GNA) and Lying Graphic Misled Ghanaians

Finally the truth is out! Yaw Osafo-Marfo, Minister of Finance, has confirmed that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank have not given him any award. He was not even in the USA when the phantom award was presented. ?Okukuseku, Onipa Hu ye Hu?

Prior to his confirmation, our Minister for (DIS)-Information, ?Lie Lie? (sorry, Nana) Akomea told the whole nation, on Peace FM, that African Finance Ministers met in Washington and voted for Mr. Marfo as Africa?s best Finance Minister. What a Shame!

The Ghana ?NPP? Agency (GNA) and the ?Lying? Graphic, did not only propagate the lie, but extended it with: ?an award ceremony was organized by EUROMONEY and the World Bank/IMF?. What a disgrace to Journalism!

Question: Why was an award, based on conversations, from an obscure newspaper SEXed up? What was the motive?

Answer: This was a "cooked up" award to raise the profile of the NPP government on its economic performance.

Kufuor and his advisers in connivance with the news media, unscrupulously preying on the understandable ?ignorance? of most Ghanaians, deliberately planted the false representation of reality.

See, most of our countrymen are suffering from economic hardship, brought upon them by the policies of the NPP Govt. This ?apo fi? was intended to boost the performance of the minister and consequently tell Ghanaians ?Obroni says our finance minister is the best, so our economy is good?

?Lie-Lie? Akomea, like his NPP brethren, can?t stop telling lies?he?s addicted to planting untruths in media for the simple folks, that is to say the people of Ghana, who so easily buy into this sort of ?cocoa-asi? balderdash predicated on lies, one stacked on another, a huge and stinking pile of vile fabrications accumulating in plain sight since John Kufuor took office.

Most, if not all, previous Governments have lied and misrepresented facts on one or another occasion to advance their own political agenda. But what distinguishes the Kufuor administration is that it does nothing but lie.

Examples: IFC Loan, Chinese Barber Loan, Bambagate, Renovation Of Kufuor's House, Apraku's Diversion of GFZB Funds, Ghana Airways, Ya-Naa, MPs Car Loans, etc

This administration is not only the master of ?witch-hunting? but also the master of deceit. Lies are the religion of this administration. Its representations of reality are so far off the charts that some political analysts have suggested that Kufuor and his advisers ? not to mention GNA & Daily Graphic ? have constructed an alternate political universe in which they live and make policy, while others say that the administration?s utterances have brought Ghana to the doorstep of an Orwellian world in which black is white, up is down, and a growing economic catastrophe is but a tempest in a teapot.

We live in an age of information and any reasonable and competent minister of information should know, with the internet, getting information is as simple as finding a kenkey seller in Accra.

As for GNA & Graphic, the least said about them the better. These two ?fine? institutions have turned into high-profile representatives of the NPP govt. They no longer perform the role the public expects of them, i.e. to ask the difficult questions, to press and to verify.

I would remind my readers of the aphorism of Abraham Lincoln, who said, ?You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.?
