Should cadres remain paupers until death?

Tue, 12 Jul 2016 Source: Yahoo

“You will find them Everywhere and you ought to know them by now. He may be the departmental Head, he may be the Managing Director, he may be the Security Officer or the Distributor – If you and I will not assume the right to arrest them, lets not expect anyone else to do it for us. Each and everyone of us is either part of the problem or a part of the solution…………….. You can neither belong to both or remain neutral. If you cannot assume the courage to be a man now, then forever BURY you complaints and remain the salve that you are ….” That was Jerry John Rawlings during his trial in which he was charged with six others with Conspiracy to Cause Mutiny and Mutiny with Violence at the General Court Matial at the Burma Hall on 28th May, 1979. A seventh accused was also facing the charge of Concealment of Mutiny. Man, it has Never been Easy for a set of soldiers to overthrow a Military Regime – but Rawlings and his Patriots did it and succeeded because of his boldness and courageous speeches at Burma Hall in 1979. Hmm…. Today, 24 good years of constitutional rule in Ghana, Times have changed and the white man’s culture is here to stay and the cost of maintaining it will rise and rise as Public and Civil servants are now paid Button Allowances, Belt Allowances, Shocks Allowances, Tire Allowances and even Walking Allowances amidst extreme corruption which is in its worst form in the body of politic today as inflation is brought about by greed and inconsideration. Can you imagine what is in store for us and the coming generation, as a result of these unpatriotic acts by some Ghanaians? The end results is that the human quality of pre June Four era in 1979. You mark my words.

Comrade Robert Mugabe fought a Liberation War in the bush and seized power in Zimbabwe in 1980 and has remained life President at age of 92 years. His revolutionary ideas have been passed down to the Youth in Zimbabwe and they talk Revolution and Not Division in that country and have no respect for the white man who stole their wealth and seized their fathers lands. Land has been re-distributed to deserving blacks against the wishes of Britain and her Allies. Come down to Ghana and see- Cadres are bound to remain paupers as well as their children until death for helping Jerry Rawlings to overturn Ghana into a thriving democracy and respectful state in 1979 and 1981 AFRC and PNDC era.

You see, victimization of June Four supporters started immediately after Rawlings handed over power to Dr. Limann in September 1979. It was as if the Military intelligence operatives had been instructed to deal with any June Four supporter who stood and spoke against cheating, corruption and injustice in Ghana. During our struggle to support Jerry Rawlings to launch the 31st Dec revolution we did not talk about one’s tribe or status in society but we all talked Revolution and cleverly dodged the prying eyes of the dreaded assistant director of the Military Intelligence in the Person of Lt. Col Annor Odjida who ordered his men to shoot and kill June 4 members on sight. We neither betrayed Rawlings nor betrayed each other like what is happening within the Cadres Front today 2016, we had no okro mouths, stomach politicians and selfish opportunities among the ranks of the June Four Movement at all between 1979 until 31st December 1981 when our Man succeeded in launching that price loaded Revolution. Do you know what? Out of the Nine Men who struck on 31st Dec. 1981 – None of them took appointment in the PNDC. Members of the June Four Movement including this writer are now paying a Heavy Price for risking our lives to help Rawlings to create awareness on this society.

As Cadres, we must appeal to the youth in Ghana to reject a system which has failed us and outworn traditions which deepened our plight. Only Cadres can handle Nana Konadu and call her to order and no one else.

THE PLIGHT OF CADRES

If Former President Rawlings as The Founder of the NDC Party and Leader of the Two Revolutions in 1979 and 1981 cannot do anything about the cadres plight in Ghana, who will do it? Nobody must blame President Mahama as he has done his best and is still doing it as at now by recognizing cadres. Cadres must rather blame Rawlings wife who has amassed so much wealth after using and dumping cadres. She has left over 2 million women in the middle of the road without future, they have nowhere to go and are confused. Who are They? They are members of the once powerful and vibrant progressive 31st Dec. Women’s Movement whose Autocratic leader is now trying hard to destroy the NDC and become Ghana’s President in 2016. I say Tofiakwa – she can run, but she cannot hide anywhere in Ghana - You mark my words – she asked for War and now she have it. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has made Cadres to become Beggars and Paupers in their own political party that they sacrificed extremely to form in 1992. The source of the PNDC’s power was the masses. Today the sources of the NDC’s power are still the masses and we salute and respect them. To some of us the Struggle is a Permanent one. We suffered and continue to suffer hardship and poverty is in its worst form. There is no tribal demarcation for injustice and exploitation. The strength of Rawlings is his sincere dedication to the cause of the ordinary man he had Authority from the masses of the people. Nana Konadu has allegedly used our Ex-gratia Awards to form a political party with impunity – period.
