Teachers To Go Armed Robbery?

Teachers cashes another dirty blow. New date, promise for teachers pay fails.Teachers on government payroll will have TO FIND A WAY to survive this weekend until they are paid, MAY BE SOMETIME next week.

This is because their salaries failed to hit their accounts despite a promise by the Education Minister Betty Mould-Iddrisu when she spoke to Joy News last Tuesday.

She had emphasized that her discussions with the relevant ministries and agencies had indicated teachers will be paid their salaries including the 15 per cent retention allowance, by March 31.

But that has turned out not to be a political CAMOUFLAGE as usual in Ghana.

The Vice President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers, Angel Karbonu who told Joy News, he had not received his March salary noted that contrary to the position of the Minister of Education Betty Mould-Iddrisu , the agreement made was that the committee will complete their work by March 31 and then Monday the money will be sent to the bank, so by Tuesday or Wednesday the payment will be done.

But now and again another new date must be fixed for the payment of Teachers salaries. Oh! Ghana!!

The Chief Executive of Fair Wages, George Smith-Graham had however indicated earlier that the teachers' salaries could only be paid after corrections to disparities had been completed.

Now the question is, when are they going to make the so-called corrections to disparities and when will they finish before they start to think about paying the poor Teachers?

After my first question, my second question is, when will the government of Ghana respect and take Teachers serious? The government will be tossing teachers here and there in all aspects while the police too will be beating the poor Teachers anyhow.

Is it not the same Teachers who are bleeding all those top jokers in Ghana?
