BRITAIN TO STOP GIVING FINANCIAL AID TO AFRICAN COUNTRIES WHO ARE AGAINST HOMOSEXUAL & LESBIAN PRACTICES.

According to the British Tabloid Newspaper the Daily Mail, the British Prime Minister Mr. David Cameron will tell African Leaders that his Government will stop giving financial aid to them if they do not stop persecuting and harassing gays and lesbians in their countries.

It is about time someone tells Mr Cameron and other European Countries who share similar sentiments that the days of Gunboat Diplomacy and the Slave Trade are over----they are relics of the past.

What a cheek? According to the Daily Mail, Malawi has her financial aid of $30 million cut. Uganda due $019 million and Ghana due $56 million will face sanctions. This is nothing short of moral, economic and cultural blackmail. I have lived and worked in Britain for 33 years and have nothing but praise and admiration for the British Culture and way of life. Similarly, I sincerely and passionately appeal to Mr. David Cameron and his like to admire and respect the cultural values and life-styles of the African People as human beings who are equally endowed with intelligence and can decide for themselves what is wrong and what is right.

Mr David Cameron, will you and the rest of Europe accept polygamy as a cultural phenomenon which needs to be practised and accepted by the European Society. I believe the time has now come for all African Leaders to come together and tell the rest of Europe that from now onwards, if their society does not embrace polygamy we will not sell any of our products to them be it in raw or finished form. It is about time people stopped confusing homosexuality and lesbianism with human rights. The more one looks back at the teachings and warnings of our beloved Dr. Kwame Nkrumah about ‘Neo—Colonialism the more one comes to the realization that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was an exceptional gift from God to Mother Africa. If we ignore his teachings and prophesies and not act on them collectively, we will forever keep paying the price till doomsday. Why is it that Mr David Cameron and his folks do not preach the same sermons to the Asian and Arab Countries if they so passionately believe in the rightness of what they are preaching? Mr Cameron, please go to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India ,Malaysia and Singapore and preach the same message and see if you will be tolerated.

In all these, I do not blame our former Colonialists but rather our Supine and clueless leaders we have ruling us. Majority (about 90%)of our African Leaders are visionless, corrupt to the bone and are only interested in how much of their people’s monies they can steal and stack out in foreign accounts. The pity of it all is that in this 21st Century Africa is suffering from ‘A Resource Curse’. Not only do we fail to trade more amongst ourselves but we put in so many trade barriers that makes internal trading very, very expensive and frustrating to say the least. The African Union and ECOWAS are nothing more than ‘toothless tigers’. All that they are interested in is having one useless Conference after another and come out with opaque and meaningless communiqués which are never acted upon year in year out.

As Shakespeare rightly put it ‘The fault is not in our stars but in ourselves’. If we cannot stand up for ourselves, then we will become easy prey for these foreign adventurers. It is about time we collectively and individually start mobilizing our strength and demand that our leaders do the right thing or else step aside.

Until we do so ,the likes of Mr.David Cameron will continue to prescribe to us the way we should lead our lives in our own countries and homes. Are we prepared to take the mantle and take our destinies in our own hands or wait for another Dr Kwame Nkrumah to come on the scene? God in his merciful wisdom has given us Dr Nkrumah once,he may not be so charitable the second tome round.
