What is the Minority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu talking about? That their criticisms of Mrs Betty Mould-Iddrisu were against her actions and not her person? Oh! My goodness. Mr. Minority Leader, don’t you know that over-criticism of one’s action can damage the personality of that individual especially when the criticisms are not justified?
Has Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu sat down and objectively traced the source of the payment to Mr. Woyome at all, before coming out to criticize the commissions and omissions of Betty? The Minority leader must know that, this is not an NPP administration where the judicial system was manipulated in the country. This is not the NPP era where they arrested people here and there without any justification. The Minority leader is being hypocritical. He is pretending to be doing a good job when he is, in fact, doing practically nothing.
On this same Woyome case, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and his colleague parliamentarians held some press conferences. And each time, they came out with different figure as regards the amount paid to Mr. Woyome. Even at one of the press conferences, they said, Mr. Woyome was paid 102million Gh cedis. They don’t even know the correct figure paid to Mr. Woyome. They keep distorting figures and throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.
Mr. Minority Leader, just because your colleague O.B. Amoah was arrested does not mean Betty Mould-Iddrisu should also be arrested. This is illogical because they are two (2) separate incidents concerning the same case. The former Attorney General acted according to the ruling of the high court and nothing showed in the report by EOCO that, Betty Mould-Iddrisu cashed any money from Mr. Woyome’s account (unless you prove me wrong) as in the case of O.B. Amoah who cashed an amount of 75,000 Gh cedis from Mr. Woyome’s account. Therefore, comparing O.B. Amoah’s situation to that of Betty Mould-Iddrisu is completely absurd and way off target.
I think Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu must widen his thinking capabilities. His scope of thinking on this issue is narrow and needs to look at it from a wider angle. Yes, the President said he is not criminally minded and irresponsible to order such an amount to be paid to Mr. Woyome. But that notwithstanding, it is not reasonable to conclude that, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, who ordered some of the payment should be arrested as claimed by the Minority Leader.
Now, another question is that, who actually ruled for the payment? Was it the Attorney General or the court of competent jurisdiction? If the court ruled in favour of Mr. Woyome, then the inference of criminally minded and irresponsibility used by the President as claimed by the Minority Leader should not be on Betty Mould-Iddrisu, but rather on the court of competent jurisdiction. So, you see why I said, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu must widen his scope on the matter. Let me ask the Minority Leader this question. Is it criminally minded for NPP parliamentarians to accept $5000 bribe? When their colleague, P.C. Ofori complained of been left out and exposed them, they shut him down.
Let me tell Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and the NPP that, members of the NDC are law abiding citizens of this nation and would do everything humanly possible to promote the justice system of the country. O. B. Amoah knows very well that he is a major contributor to the Woyome case that was why he ran to court when he was invited by EOCO. But trust me; he is not going to get out of it. Just as heads are rolling in the NDC, so shall it be in the NPP because the mess was caused by them.
So, Mr. Minority Leader, stay clear from Betty Mould-Iddrisu. She is innocent. If she is not, you are not the law. Allow the law enforcement agencies to do their job and stick to your parliamentary duties.
