The NDC Is Deeply Ungrateful To The Rawlingses!

Since news of the campaign posters of Nana Konadu Rawllings hit the streets of Ghana, some characters operating under several assumed associations broke loose and started attacking Nana Konadu for overtly or covertly campaigning to unseat President Mills in a yet to be organized primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). I must say when I listened to some of them I could see sycophancy flowing like the newly found oil from the numerous oil fields in the country!

How outrageous is it for somebody to dare challenge Nana Konadu’s intention to contest the primaries of the party he knows better then anybody in the NDC apart from her husband- chairman Rawllings? In any case when the husband left Konadu and went and took the risk of an illegal coup that gradually transformed into the NDC where were those sycophants who are now daring her even though she has herself not uttered a word about her candidature yet?

The sad thing is that, some of the charlatans attacking Nana Konadu were not yet born in 1979-1981 when Jerry Rawllings and Konadu placed their lives on line albeit illegally which saw the NDC formed several years later- the fruits of which president Mills and those lackeys are enjoying now and kicking in all directions like drunken horses!

What those sycophants must be told is that: Nana Konadu just like any Ghanaian can express her interest to contest the primaries of the NDC any day. I can also even express my intention to lead the NDC into election 2012 if am able to pass the requirements of the party and seen as a better option than Mills. Hahahaha…..!

If president Mills is so popular and performing very well- why is anybody afraid of a contest? So those ranting and chanting about Konadu’s candidature of the NDC should use that energy to campaign for Mills and not wasting time on a day that will come by all means! That is- the day Konadu will openly and directly declare her intention to lead the political party which is virtually her baby.

I have spoken to some people from within the NDC who are so closer to Nana Konadu and can report here authoritatively that, she will be a candidate during the NDC primaries and will win. The truth is that, chairman Rawllings the founder of the NDC will be the campaign manager of his wife when the time comes, that will be when those making noises now will have their jaws broken into pieces by macho men!

The reality is that it will be impossible for the NDC to even conduct its primaries without Konadu. The temperature of the country now among NDC supporters favours a Nana Konadu’s candidature than Mills.

Another group thinks that, John Mahama/Konadu ticket will be very good for the fortunes of the NDC. Such group even has a slogan dubbed: ‘No Konadu No NDC’. This group has vowed to ensure that, Nana Konadu leads the NDC to election 2012 by all means!

If I were to be asked to express my views about the future of president Mills after his tenure I will suggest he should just throw in the towel. At least he has been so lucky that, he was plucked from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by Konadu and the husband and “Swedru declared” to be Rawlings’ running mate in 1996. He had the privileged of becoming a Vice President and now president of Ghana. He should be grateful and give way especially as it is very obvious he his not on top of things.

This is a president whose ministers do not respect him. He gave them one week to declare their assets in line with the provisions of the constitution of the republic of Ghana barely two years after that directive- most of his ministers are yet to declare their assets. What sort of a president is that? In his time 1.6Billion was allegedly used on hampers for non existent creatures. In his time 1.3Billion was used on cheap Chelsea tea and Kebabs and his time laptops are bought for MPs whiles school children are unable to have access to computers to study!

There are these allegations which were made on various radio stations by his own party people that, he hallucinates, is very sick, see demons and greets his staff at the Castle as many times as he sees them during the day. It is reported that, he has a bad eye sight and reads in the largest of fonts even with the sharpest spectacles! All these are not good signs for a president of the republic of Ghana. The risk of him signing huge contracts that can put Ghana on eBay is very high! Nobody is politicizing somebody’s health we are all not healthy but that is the truth and it must be told!

To those in NDC who hitherto were not known at all but who have now developed very large mouths to rant at the former First-Lady and Jerry Rawlings must be told to just shut up and stop provoking Ghanaians. It is the democratic right of Konadu to contest any elections just like Mills or anybody. So such people must come to terms with this basic democratic principle.

I commend hugely the numerous groups canvassing for Nana Konadu and wish to urge them to continue to do what they believe in. They should continue to exercise their democratic right of choice in who ever they believe can lead their party just as Ben Ephson and Kwesi Pratt are also canvassing for President Mills.
