The Osu Military Cemetery: A Final Resting Place

For The Fallen Commander-In-Chief?

Sometimes we can become so overcome with grief that if we aren't restrained from doing so, we might take decisions and make utterances, which under normal circumstances, it is almost certain we never would.

Perhaps some of those who now rule our nation are so overcome with grief at present - hence the unfortunate decision to lay our late president to rest at the Flagstaff House.

With respect - and very humbly, I hasten to add - one pleads with them to quickly rescind that macabre idea.

Why not lay the dearly departed Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces - who died whiles on active duty serving Ghana: despite not being well - to rest at the Osu Military Cemetery?

If Parliament is chosen for his funeral, his flag-drapped coffin can be conveyed from there on a gun-carriage, to the Osu Military Cemetery.

There, he will rest amongst the gallant men and women of the GAF - who like him also served their nation faithfully, whiles alive.

Surely, dear reader, it is entirely proper and fitting that the one truly world-class state institution in Ghana, which has resisted being compromised by corruption, should keep and guard the mortal remains of the most selfless and honest Commander-In-Chief it has had thus far, since the overthrow of President Nkrumah in 1966?
