The State of CPP: who is to blame

*THE STATE OF CPP – WHO IS TO BLAME?*

We refer to the publication on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, Daily Graphic newspaper, on the mentioned subject in quote: “*Bomfeh must resign as CPP Youth Organizer – Group*”. According to the publication that a concerned youth of CPP represented by one Frederick Opoku is calling Mr. Kwabena Bomfeh’s resignation as the youth leader of CPP for his gross incompetence and negligence in the exercise of his duty.

We write to question the motive behind this call and what it seeks to do in terms of timing especially as the Party is working at amending her constitution and go for an early congress to elect officers as well as a flagbearer. We do not intend to hold brief for Mr. Bomfeh as person but we can attest of his energy and enthusiasm towards the cause of the CPP. The fact is that most of our CPP members both executives and non-executives sometimes pretend to love the party when in actual sense they do not.

Mr. Bomfeh, in our opinion, is one of the most committed CPP members even though he may have some lapses; he shall not be classified as one of the hypocrites who pretend to love the party. The way the party is even structured currently is killing us. In fact, I was disappointed about the Party when I attended a CPP youth meeting for the first time organized by Mr. Bomfeh. It was poorly attended which made it discouraging and disappointing.

The problems of the CPP are not the creation of anyone particular person. We are caught up in that web of taking up responsibility and rebuilding the Party into a winsome one. Let us remember that to play blame game is not the way to go for a better CPP.

We of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) branch of TESCHART wish to reaffirm our confidence in our National Youth Organizer and challenge anyone with any grievances to use the channels spelt in the Party’s Constitution and STOP this act of hooliganism which does no good to the Party in any way.

FORWARD EVER, backward never!
