The scary terror attacks

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 Source: Suwari, Alhaji Baba

Terror attacks have become so banal in today's world so much so that some people even think it's no news anymore when they happen. And to think majority of these attacks are engineered and perpetrated by the sons and daughters of immigrants who have been admitted to these western countries as asylees is even more nauseating. Even more repugnant is the fact that, they carry out these nefarious attacks in the name of Islam which I'm glad the world is gradually coming to the realization that these practices thread parallel with the principles and values of Islam.

But then again, you might wanna also think they have a problem with the west (as they claim) that's why they attack mostly the western countries but in recent past, the attacks on Côte D'ivoire, Burkina Faso, Mali, Kenya etc have proven that these wicked terrorists are just up to cause fear and panic in the world. Today, citizens of African countries like Ghana for example are living in constant fear of being attacked any day at anytime T because their neighbors have been attacked. I mean, what at all is this? And what do these terrorists want??

To make matters worse for Africa, the kind of publicity being given to the attacks on western countries by the international media is not given to the ones that are carried out on African countries. For instance, I got to know of the attack on Côte D'ivoire the day after the incident occurred because I didn't read the news the whole day due to my busy schedules but CNN alerted me on my phone few minutes after the attacks on France, Belgium and Turkey happened. I think such media discriminations must stop. CNN, Al Jazeera and so on can do a better job than that. However, let me commend the BBC for a good job done across board. We live in an interconnected world where all lives and all countries should matter!!!

Honestly, the occurrences of these terror attacks on daily basis is becoming a problem and the death toll so far since 9/11 keeps increasing exponentially. We can only pray that the Almighty ALLAH will intercedes in these matters but some measures have to taken by the powers that be to stop these things from happening. Some form of dialogue must go on. I mean, something definitely has to be done to make this world a better place.

My condolences to Cote D'ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Belgium and Turkey for the nefarious attacks on their lands in recent past.
