It is been proven time without number that coming events always cast their shadows. And to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Therefore, if the gun shots that were fired by the security guards of NPP’s desperate Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo at his Nima residence last Sunday to scare NDC supporters who were on a health walk is anything to go by, then Ghanaians must brace themselves and not take the peace we are enjoying for granted.
Trust me, Nana Akufo-Addo will not go down this time around in the polls without a fight. Indeed, Nana Akufo-Addo is bent on using everything up his sleeves even to the extent of plunging the country into war in his over ambitious zeal to mount the highest office in Ghana. We should therefore not underestimate the extent to which Nana Akufo-Addo can or will go to achieve his illegal aim.
Reports about the stockpile of guns in certain parts of the country notably the Ashanti Region, which incidentally is the stronghold of the NPP, must not be taken with a pinch of salt. It is very real and make no mistake; Nana Akufo-Addo is not sleeping. He knows that the grounds are not favourable for him; therefore, he is bent on venting his spleen on Ghanaians if he goes down by losing to President Mahama on December 7.
It is therefore gratifying that in his speech during the recently held Meet-The-Press in Accra, Hon. Prosper Bani, the Interior Minister did not mince words by saying emphatically that Ghana does not recognize the Azorka Boys, the Bolga Bulldogs, and the Invincible Forces that have been set up illegally by some political parties to cause mayhem during the up-coming elections.
Prosper Bani even went further by giving a stern warning that the Ministry of the Interior will not hesitate to pick individuals from these illegal groups and prosecute them in court if they dare cause any commotion in any part of the country during the elections. The Minister added that, “The police and other security personnel have the mandate to secure all lives and ballot boxes during the elections. So we will have zero tolerance for violence in the upcoming elections”.
With three weeks to go before the 2016 Elections, I strongly urge the Minister of the Interior to do even more. He should move his team from region to region, from town to town, and further amplify his warning to these illegals, which for some small fees are bent on plunging the country into war if the elections do not go the way of their paymasters.
Ghana is bigger than one single individual! It is larger than one person. In fact, our beloved country is not the single property of just one person. Therefore, anybody who thinks that his loss in the polls should be the suffering of the masses is living in a fool’s paradise.
President Mahama has said it countless of time that he will not supervise a chaotic elections. He has even promised that should he lose, which is highly unlikely, he would hand over peacefully. Mahama does not have any intentions of hanging on if voters decide otherwise.
Can any Ghanaian recall if Nana Akufo-Addo during his numerous speeches has made a similar comment? Can anybody remember if Akufo-Addo has pledged to accept the results if it does not go his way? Akufo-Addo seems to have just one thing on his mind: Flagstaff House or Mayhem. The security agencies must closely watch Akufo-Addo. If this man can stockpile guns at the NPP headquarters and his house, then he is capable of anything.
I am reliably informed that the International Community (IC) is monitoring the political events in Ghana very closely. I am learning that the IC, which looks at Ghana at the beacon of democracy in Africa, will never sit down for any individual to cause bedlam in Ghana. The cost of war would be too much for the IC, which is currently battling with rebuilding costs in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya.
Therefore, according to reliable sources, any Ghanaian political leader who after the 2016 Elections decides not to accept the will of the people, but try to unload his thugs to cause confusion in Ghana will immediately be whisked to the Hague, Netherlands to be prosecuted.
Please do not discount this message because it is the truth. Therefore, if Nana Akufo-Addo or his cohorts have any hidden agenda or intentions to plunge the country into war if they lose the 2016 ballot, they had better think twice, because the law will deal with them. They will be sent to the Hague.
I am of the view that the Police did not handle last Sunday’s incident around Nana Akufo-Addo’s house professionally. If they did, it would not have reached the crescendo it hit.
I, therefore, hope the Interior Minister and his security team will take a cue from that incident and adopt a full-proof strategy because what Akufo-Addo and his cohorts plan to do on December 7 to scare and prevent NDC supporters from voting at polling stations pales to nothing than what happened at his house on Sunday.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed. And coming events always cast their shadows.
