My brothers and sisters, let us pause for a moment and reflect on the sacrifices we have made for Ghana's democracy. Time and time again, we have stood tall, offering our loyalty, our voices, and our votes. But what have we received in return from the NPP? Betrayal. Disrespect. Neglect.
We warned Dr. Bawumia, but like Alhaji Aliu Mahama before him, he has now seen the reality. The NPP has used him, just as they have used the North for decades. They parade us when elections are near, promising the world. Yet, when power is shared, they treat us as second-class citizens, unworthy of true leadership.
The story of the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama should have been a lesson to us all. A man who served with integrity and excellence, yet when his moment came, the NPP discarded him without remorse. Today, Dr. Bawumia faces the same humiliation—a painful reminder that in the eyes of the NPP, northerners are mere pawns in their political game.
But we are not pawns. We are a proud and resilient people. We are farmers, teachers, traders, intellectuals, and leaders. We are the backbone of this nation, and we deserve better than empty promises and betrayals.
It is time for us to reclaim our dignity. It is time to stand with those who respect us, who see our potential, and who fight for our progress. Under the leadership of President Mahama, the Northern Regions saw roads, schools, hospitals, and policies that directly impacted our lives. That is what true leadership looks like—leadership that values people, not just their votes.
The Northern Regions cannot afford to be taken for granted any longer. Let us unite and send a strong message to the NPP: We are not tools for your ambitions. We are partners in Ghana’s future, and we will no longer be sidelined.
Our destiny is in our hands. Together, we can ensure a future where our children will not feel the sting of betrayal but will instead walk with pride, knowing that their people are respected and valued. Let us rise, stand firm, and demand the dignity and respect that we deserve.
The time to reflect is NOW!
