To vote or not to vote NPP: Top 10 Reasons

Ndc Vs Npp

Mon, 4 Jun 2007 Source: Poku, Kojo

Vote NPP - Path to National Suicide

1. Stabilization of the Cedi: One of the greatest achievements of the Kufuor administration and a good reason to return them to power

2. School Feeding Program: Although the government has stretched the truth, it’s still a fact that some 2% of Ghanaians pupils enjoy free school meals.

3. Security & Stability: We want peace and we have it, albeit we have had it for the past 27 years

4. Press Freedom: Our government refuses to listen, but at least our journalists have the freedom to say what they want.

5. Celebration: This govt knows how to throw a party as witnessed on March 5

6. Debt Relief: Ghana got lots of it but Kufuor and co are undoing all their good work by taking more loans to build useless things, e.g. Palace, Stadiums, etc

7. HIPC: I don’t know why this is listed here, but the NPP govt. claims it was good for us.

8. Close to the USA: Our nation has become a poodle of the United States, which is not that bad.

9. National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP): Lots of buzz about employing the youth. Yet to see the effects, but the govt deserves some credit for at least coming up with a plan.

10. Football World Cup Qualification: This event gave us a lot more publicity than Kufuor’s 167 trips abroad, but then credit to the govt for making this possible.

Dump NPP - Path to saving Ghana

1. NPP(No Proper Planning): Any nation that fails to plan, plans to fail. Our current government is a living example of this phrase.

2. Energy Crisis: If you think we have a problem today, wait till NPP returns to power again. Any govt that depends on nature (rain) to solve problms cannot be serious

3. Traveling: The amount of money used for traveling (+ per Diem) by Kufuor’s men in the past 6 years could have built and equipped a university.

4. Drugs: Back in JJ’s time the drug of choice was “wee” and dealers were mainly “lowlifes”. This government moved Ghana to a higher playing field. We now have our parliamentarians and police all dealing in hard drugs - cocaine

5. Collapse of industries: Juapong Textiles, Ghana Airways, VALCO, etc are all gone. If these people retain power, we will be importing Konkonte(Lapiwa) from China

6. Crime & Punishment: Alhaji Bamba, Edumadze, Wereko-Brobbey, Anane etc are all free men while ordinary Ghanaian who steal cassava etc languish in jail for years

7. National Reconciliation Council: Expect another NRC again in 2008. This time it will be to reconcile the stolen money

8. Lies: The NPP government lives off communiqués and 'we are going to do this and that'! The last time I looked up they have built the following (with their mouths): 6-lane Accra-Kumasi Highway? Nuclear Reactor with the assistance of the Koreans? Generated Energy with the help of the Nigerians? Office of Accountability?

9. Educational Policy: The NPP’s plan for our education is to change JSS to JHS and SSS to SHS and then our schools will be well equipped with good motivated teachers and teaching resources

10. Job for the Boys: Number of parliamentarians was doubled, number of Supreme Court justices was increased, and Number of ministers went up. Don’t be surprised if the NPP increase the number of vice-presidents if voted to power in 2008 ;)
