Ghana, renowned for its ethnic tolerance and peaceful coexistence, is facing a growing concern that browbeats to disrupt its harmonious fabric. Unprovoked attacks on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II have become a social canker that demands immediate attention.

For years, Ghana has enjoyed a reputation as one of Africa's most peaceful countries, with chiefs living in harmony and contributing to the nation's accelerated development. However, recent events have seen some individuals launch vicious verbal assaults on the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on national television, radio stations, and social media platforms.

These unwarranted pillories have continued unabated, with no authority intervening to stop them. While many Asantes have remained silent out of respect for peace and Ghana's stability, this silence cannot persist indefinitely.

The time has come for urgent action to preclude chaos and protect the dignity of the Asantehene and the Asante Kingdom. It is imperative that authorities take decisive measures to address this issue and ensure that those responsible for these attacks are held accountable.

Ghana's cherished ethnic tolerance and peaceful coexistence must be preserved. We cannot afford to let this social cancer spread further, threatening the very foundations of our harmonious society. It is time for collective action to safeguard our peace and protect the dignity of our revered traditional leaders.

Recent events have highlighted a disturbing trend of disrespect towards Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

On a live television broadcast on Onua TV, young girl, under the influence of her ferocious subordinates uttered unacceptable words about the revered traditional leader, showcasing a worrying lack of awareness and respect.

This incident is not an isolated one. Social media platforms have been awash with derogatory posts and insults directed at Asantehene, often without provocation. Unfortunately, this phenomenon has escalated to the point where some chiefs have joined the chorus of disrespect, publicly disparaging the Asantehene's name.

Quite startlingly, in all these unsavoury and yucky situations against The Asantehene the duty bearers haven’t embarked on any propitious step to stymie the belligerent character of those supercilious individuals.

This growing culture of disrespect demands attention and action. It is imperative that we address this issue and hold perpetrators accountable, lest it erode the cultural values and traditions that underpin our society.

The eerily silence from the state institutions are creating huge perception that they are chum to the perpetrators, hence have kept mum about this on the lots of time.

I am with this medium, entreating relevant state actors especially National Security and National Peace Council to burrow into this case expeditiously so that, those behavior will be nipped on the bud before escalation.

It is incontrovertibly clear that, The Asantehene, as a symbol of peace, Ashanti heritage and Ghanaian culture, deserves respect and dignity.

We must reclaim our values of reverence and decorum, particularly towards traditional leaders.
