Ursula Owusu wants to be Ashanti Regional Minister

When the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was in opposition, Ghanaians would recall that one person who fought tooth and nail to bring back the party to power was Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe who is now the Central Regional Minister.

Now the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is opposition, and one person who is fighting “bull and donkey” to bring back the party to power is Ursula Owusu, an NPP activist and Vice President of FIDA International. Every now and then, Ursula Owusu can be heard on one radio station or the other hurling insults and using indecent language against the NDC. Like a peacock she can also be seen on TV screens screaming with protruding veins around her neck and her eyes popping out like a frog casting curses and insults on President Mills, and the NDC.

She was once heard telling a friend that she wants to be like Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe so that in case Nana Akuffo Addo wins the December 2012 presidential election, she (Ursula Owusu) would be appointed as the Ashanti Regional Minister.

Yes, Ghanaians know how Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe was hard on the then ruling NPP when she appeared on radio and TV, but the kind of indecency and insults exhibited by Ursula Owusu cannot be compared to what Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe did against the NPP when the NDC was in opposition. Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe never used those uncivilized words as being used by Ursula.

I cannot believe that Ursula Owusu is a lawyer and the Vice President of FIDA. Can she be a role model to our young women? No! Can Ursula Owusu tell Ghanaian young women who mentored her when she was a young woman to become a lawyer and also hold an enviable position as the Vice President of FIDA? Was her role model nonconforming and uncivilized like her? Was her role model hopping from one radio station to another insulting and using abusive language against her political opponents?

Ursula Owusu is a disgrace to FIDA and all women lawyers in Ghana and the international community. Parents should not allow their children to listen to Ursula Owusu. She is not an ideal woman to be taken as a role model.

My special message to Ursula is that she is going to laugh at the wrong side of her mouth on December 7, 2012 because Nana Akuffo Addo is not going to win the presidential election. So her ambition to become the Ashanti Regional Minister will not be realized.

Ursula Owusu is not the only woman suffering from the symptoms and hot flashes of menopause, so she should observe comportment in public. I am much concerned about her behaviour, because I would not be surprised if one day she goes berserk and naked in front of TV cameras for all Ghanaians to see her nudeness on their screens.

Our elders say that, “when you buy soap, you use it to wash your body but not your mouth to enable you to insult people”.
