Voices of African Mothers, the innovative NGO in charity

In aid to fight sickness, poverty and war in the African Continent, Voices of African Mothers (VAM), an NGO founded by Nana Fosu Randall, a former financial Officer of the United Nations (UN) and co - founder of John William Montessori School (JWMS) has embarked on numerous innovative programs which include education, health and outreach project.

Since its establishment in 2004, Voices of African Mothers projects has been designed in lined with the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) purposely to improve the lives of the African child and empower women to build a good future for the generations to come. However, VAM also welcomes men in it activities as a source of protection for children and wives.

“The first lady of Equatorial Guinea, Her Excellency Mrs. Constancia Mangue Nsue de Obiang is a very good friend of mine and also a patron of Voices of African Mothers, therefore everything my organization caries out, she is part of it.

Though many may not understand why, I think Africa must celebrate her for the great effort to educate the African child”. Nana Fosu Randall has always said this.

Voices of African Mothers, has since expanded its aid program to include a wealth of education service in an effort to rebuild education in post conflict states and poor communities. At John William Montessori School, established by Nana Fosu Randall, with over 700 students, 25% are being sponsored by VAM and the first lady of Equatorial Guinea.

In an international educational program, opportunities are given to students of the school to study in Europe, America and other part of Africa. John William Montessorri School is now enrolling ten children from Equatorial Guinea in Ghana to acquire certificate in basic education being sponsored by Her Excellency Costancia Mangue through her organization, Equatorial Guinean Child Aid Committee (Canige).

With the help of the first lady, Voices of African Mothers has built a girls school at Sogakope in the Volta Region, expected to be opened soon.

Annually, students from Cornell University visit and teach pupils of Jon William Montessori School.

Improving health care in Ghana, Voices of African Mothers has registered almost 300 children in the Tanoso community and nearby villages unto the national health insurance scheme to enable them access free health care. The organization has also established a centre for autism children in the Tanoso community.

In aiding the poor, Westchester Chapter of Link, Inc, a charitable organization in the United States of America (USA) has launched a partnership outreach project with Voices of African Mothers to support the organization in donating to the Mampong Babies Home in the Ashanti Region.

The director, Judge Delores Scott Brathwaite said the organization is expected to bring another concession of the items to be donated.

Nana Fosu Randall has always been appreciative to the international Director of the organization, Judge Delores Scott Brathwaite, in the Town of Greenburgh effort to eradicate poverty in the African society most especially Ghana.

For the past years, Nana Fosu Randall, Her Excellency Mrs. Constancia Mangue Nsue de Obiang and Judge Delores Scott Brathwaite’s incredible partnership have provided an improved education, lifesaving medical care and heartfelt donation to our children.

It is however our wish that both leaders and the rich in African take similar step in the fight to wipe out poverty for a better future.
