We challenge John Mahama

PRESS RELEASE

We challenge John Mahama to speak on his alleged involvement in the demise of President Mills.

“A human being may get rich through blood shed and betrayal but the control button for true joy and the consequences of man’s actions are completely outside his/her latitude of influence”.

We, the members of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for President’s Forum are deeply alarmed and shocked at the ineptitude and seemingly lack of forthrightness being exhibited by the Security Agencies in conducting investigation into the sudden death of the former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills. The general apathy exhibited by members of the Security Services especially the Police has given room to speculations that they are in league with the members of the Ruling Party who we suspect played leading roles in dispatching the former President into his untimely grave.

The restrained hand of justice in bringing to book acts of impunity, some of which bordered on treasonable felony has fuelled our speculation that the President and his political atavists are sacred cows and therefore untouchable. Any Ghanaian who does not subscribe to the Mephistophelean ideology of the NDC is treated with scum as a second rated citizen in the country of his birth. President John Mahama divisive policy has pitted Ghanaians against themselves. We now have those who are for the NDC and the Rest of us. This is a dangerous phenomenon.

It is pertinent to recall at this juncture that a suspected murderer was given refuge by the Brong Ahafo Deputy Regional Minister. He was found hiding under the bed of the Deputy Minister. The Minister remained at post for more seven months after the incident before a Tsunami swept him off his position during a minor Cabinet Reshuffle.

We, the members of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum are very displeased with the way and manner the Security Services have handled the death of Former President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills. We cannot fathom the sudden inertia which has crept into the various branches of the security services, making it almost impossible to function at its optimum.

We recall with nostalgic feelings the exploits of past members of our security services which made them the cynosure of all eyes and envy of other countries. Where is the policeman whose nickname “Abban” became a household name in the country? He it was who had the temerity to arrest the driver of late Prime Minister, Dr. K.A.Busia for a traffic offence. The heavens did not fall.

Sadly today, this pride has been eroded under the clueless and whimsical government of President John Mahama.

Today, we have a President commenting on the death of his predecessor as if the latter was a chicken which has just died. Listen to him:

“It is often said that in adversity, there are opportunities. God has been good to our party. The death of President Mills has opened a door of opportunity for me to become President” (President John Dramani Mahama). Juxtapose the President’s statements with that of Anita de Souza own that “if former President Mills had not died at the time he did, it would have dimmed the chances of the NDC”, and you cannot but come to the conclusion that the former President did not die a natural death.

We, members of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum are extremely shocked that the Police have not deemed it imperative to invite both the President and the NDC’s Women’s Organizer for questioning. We are more than convinced that President John Mahama knows more than he has told the nation. We are equally more convinced that current President John Dramani Mahama was deeply involved in the death of his Predecessor. We therefore call on the Security Agencies to perform their constitutional duties which they have sworn to do by inviting the President to shed more light on his statement.

Even though it is appointed unto man once to die, no one, not even a conscienceless person jubilates at the death of his or her enemy. Muslims do accept the passing away of a loved one as the will of Allah and do not spend longer period in mourning the dead as the Christians do. Nevertheless no Muslim will ever make any such reckless remarks as were made by President Mahama and the Women’s Organizer of the NDC, Anita de Souza. The statements could at best be described as callous ones devoid of feelings, most especially when viewed against the background that the late President did not attain the expected age of Seventy Years as stated in the Holy Bible. President Mahama’s reckless statement that God has been good to the NDC by taking the life of President Mills gives cause for concern.

Those statements by President Mahama and Anita de Souza reveal a grand conspiracy hatched by highly placed persons at the Presidency to do something sinister about the dwindling fortunes of the NDC. So, what did they do? They dispatched former President, Professor Mills to his early grave. You may choose to call it “mercy killing” if you like.

We ask the Security Agencies what they are doing the death with all these evidence starring them at their faces.

We of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum are convinced beyond all reasonable doubts that the unfortunate and foolish act of making the former President go through vigorous exercises at the KIA prior to his departure to the US for medical treatment and after his arrival were all geared towards exacerbating his illness to make him succumb to his untimely demise. Could any top member of the Party including current President John Mahama give Ghanaians one tangible reason why they did what they did?

We are therefore calling for the arrest of all protocol officers and top members of the NDC on the day the President departed from the country and when he arrived from his medical trip abroad.

We are at a loss as to why the Security Agencies have deliberately turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the inconsistencies in two statements made by President Mahama in connection with the death of his predecessor, John Evans Atta Mills. The first one was made on the day he was sworn in as President. And what did he say? He said he had met the former President on the morning of the day he was officially pronounced dead in company of Chief of Staff, Henry Martey Newman in the late President’s office. There and then, his former boss had asked both of them to represent him at a public function holding at the International Conference Centre. Having successfully completed the assignment they returned to give feed back to the late President in the latter’s office.

Then came the mother of all blunders. In an interview with Shaka Ssali of VOA Straight Talk Africa fame at a latter date, President Mahama, who perhaps was suffering from selective amnesia perjured himself by stating that he observed that the late President did not come to his office on Monday, 23rd July, 2012. He, then Vice President Mahama went to his office and found a memo from the late President asking him and the Chief of Staff to represent him (the late President) at a public function holding at the ICC. During that interview, President Mahama never made mention of meeting the late President before and after the assignment. Why? A credibility doubt is created here and it is something the security agencies should focus their investigations on.

Why did he omit the fact that he and the Chief of Staff had met the former President on the day he (former President Mills) died? The answer is simple. It was because no such meeting took place and that the former President was stone dead by then.

It is pertinent at this stage to introduce another aspect of deception and cover up by top members of the NDC. Haruna Iddrissu, the youthful Communications Minister, who we learn is nursing presidential ambition would not be left out of that political quagmire. He said he was part of the delegation that represented the President on the day he, Former President Mills died. But he gave the venue of the function as the Arts Centre, Accra.

Again we ask: Why are there many discrepancies in the various accounts? Why do we have different venues for a single function? Those omissions, falsifications, misrepresentations, distortions and blatant lies speak volumes of mischief and conspiracies that went on behind the scenes for which the security agencies must do well to unmask so as to bring perpetrators of such a heinous crime to justice.

We the members of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for President’s Forum are not the least bemused at the treasonable felony committed by the security capos on the day before the former President officially died. We, ordinary Ghanaians know that armoured vehicles are used to guide the residence of an incumbent President. There cannot be two people holding the office of a President simultaneously, in much the same way as two rams cannot drink from the same pot. If they do, they will lock horns and confusion will ensue.

We therefore cannot fathom the reason that went into dispatching those armoured vehicles to guide the residence of the then Vice President John Dramani Mahama at Cantonments at a time when the former President was supposedly alive. Such infractions portend grave danger for the country.

Could it be that a palace coup had taken place between forces loyal to both the President and his Vice and in the process those of the then President Mills got routed by forces loyal to the Vice President? Could it be that the President got killed in the battle for superiority between him and his Vice? We are at a loss as to why such a constitutional breach could be carried at such critical period of the nation’s history. There must be in-depth investigations into what precipitated that action.

Wasn’t it intriguing that Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the President’s right hand man should choose the Saturday of all days to launch his campaign for election into Parliament as MP for Odododioodoo at a time when his then boss, the late President was celebrating his birthday?

Equally confusing was the fact that the late President while being rushed to 37 Military Hospital was accompanied by two paediatricians. This information was given by the Commander of the Hospital. Our late President was 68 years old when he died. Paediatricians to the layman are doctors who specialize and treat children. At 68, the late President did not need the services of paediatricians or children’s doctors. Why the people at the Castle including the then Vice President Mahama should make such doctors to take care of an adult and the President of the country has given credence to a conspiracy theory which hinges on the fact that perhaps the doctors were brought in to ensure the former President’s never came back from the hospital alive.

We are now more than convinced that there was a deliberate and diabolical plan hatched with the connivance of the then Vice President Mahama to ensure that the President was dispatched to his early grave by hook or crook to enhance the fortunes of the NDC in the December 7, 2012 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections. We do not see any genuine reason apart from what we have stated in making two paediatricians accompany the late President while he was being rushed to the 37 Military Hospital.

We should also not overlook the demeanour and utterances of some members of the NDC who were very close to the President during the latter’s final stay on earth. Dr Cadman Mills did not join the ambulance whilst the brother, former President Mills was being rushed to the 37 Military Hospital. We find his behaviour and action very odd. Even though we find it very strange that he was not present at the time the former President was officially pronounced dead, he came out with such a blasphemous statement that at the point of death, his brother. the late President raised his eyes to the Heavens, lifted his hands and uttered “Lord, I give all to you”. What did he hope to gain by such blasphemy?

We would like to draw readers’ attention to the fact that Dr Kwabena Agyei, Chairman of the NDC had stated that the former President had died in the morning of Tuesday, 24th July, 2012. It is equally important that this same Kwabena Adjei had stated that the rumours concerning the death of former President Mills some weeks before the actual event occurred had emanated from the then Vice President John Mahama.

We, members of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s Forum are more than convinced that the former President had died on Monday, 23rd July, 2012 and the sister was brought in as a decoy to take peoples mind from the fact that the President was dead. We were told that the President was so ill that he could not attend the Religious Service held at the Castle on Sunday. What did the sister not go to see the brother on that Monday but waited till Tuesday before doing so? And why should the condition of the President deteriorate after a birthday party was organized for him? We suspect that it was at that birthday ‘bash’ that perpetrators of that heinous crime brought their plan to fruition and we suspect Nii Lante Vanderpuye’s absence from the party was a tactical move to give him an alibi in case a full scale enquiry was conducted. It could be slow poison that was given to the late President.

Again, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum would like Ghanaians to interrogate the issue raised by Martin Amidu, Former Attorney General under late President Mills. He said the late President set up a Three Member Committee to investigate the inflated contract in the purchase of five military Aircrafts by his then Vice President, John Mahama. Martin Amidu gave us the names of the three persons. We suspect that it was the attempt to investigate his shady deals that made President Mahama decide that his ‘enemies’ were closing in on him and he had to act fast or be doomed. And it was at that point that the fate of the late President was sealed.

The Three members of the Committee which never saw the light of the day are all alive and we demand that they speak out and tell Ghanaians all they know about the issues now in public domain. Was it really true that the late President felt betrayed by the insincerity of his once trusted ally? Did they accept to serve on the committee? What were their terms of reference and why could it not take off?

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum is not fooled by the antics of President Mahama and his political atavists to stifle our quest for an open investigation into the role he played in the mysterious death of his predecessor. Many Ghanaians have been calling for an open investigation into the death, but the President pretends not to have heard nor read about it. But a few days ago, he said that he had recently become a victim of false publication when a section of the media came out with a story that his convoy had hit a pregnant woman, stressing that the information was wrong so the public should treat it with contempt.

We of NADAAFPF would have appreciated if he, President Mahama had said that those who are saying he had given two different accounts about how his predecessor died were wrong and that the public should treat it with the contempt it deserves. But he has not done any such thing but has chosen to comment on a matter which is innocuous to himself, even though the issue of the two contradictory statements have been in the public domain for a long time. Is he going to comment on it now or remain dumb and think the matter will die a natural death?

Will the President and his lackeys like Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Kwesi Pratt, Sam George, Fiifi Kwetey, Omane Boamah, Alhaji Bature, Allotey Jacobs, Elvis Afriyie Ankra and many others tell Ghanaians why the President at the spur of the moment commented on the alleged attempts to prevent him from campaigning at Kibi (even though the NDC Executives at Kibi had issued a statement to the effect that no such thing had taken place), but has so far refused to comment on his personal involvement in dispatching his predecessor to his untimely grave?

We challenge President Mahama to comment on these charges we are throwing at him with the same dispatch as he had been doing with other less relevant issues. If he and the NDC are innocent of these accusations they should respond to all the issues we have raised within Twenty Four Hours after publication. That is if they are people of integrity. Failure to do so will mean they are guilty as charged and should buy down their heads in shame.

We are not talking in vacuum. There has been a precedent in the United States whose democracy we claim to be emulating. During President George Walker Bush’s tenure as President, his Vice, Dick Chimney was questioned in an unfortunate incident in which he (the VP) accidentally shot a colleague during a hunting expedition. The findings were made public a day after the Vice President had been questioned.

NADAAFPF demands a public inquest to be led by world acclaimed ...................... We demand that the President and top members of his administrators make themselves available for questioning to find out what roles, if any they had played in the untimely death of President John Evans Atta Mills.

We demand answers to all questions we have raised in this Press Release, especially from President Mahama, Dr Kwabena Agyei, Haruna Iddrissu, Henry Martey Newman, Dr Cadman Mills, Anita de Souza and many others who have been mentioned in similar statements or write up on the death of President Mills.

We equally appeal and demand that the tapes –

1) The one by Prez Mahama where he spoke of meeting the late President on the day of his death.

2) Shaka Ssali’s exclusive interview with President Mahama on President Mills death

3) Haruna Iddrissu’s account on the death of President Mills

Be played to know what had gone wrong with the way we handled the death of former President Mills.

Finally, the nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for president’s forum (NADAAFPF) wishes to emphasize that as the election fever gets heated up, there is the need for Ghanaians to know the credentials, including the negatives of all aspiring presidential candidates of various political parties. It has therefore become imperative for various Media House in possession of the tapes, especially the Electronic ones to consistently and intermittently play these three tapes to enable Ghanaians know the true characters of the person whose hand we have entrusted our collective destiny into.

It will then enable Ghanaians to make a wise and informed decision as to whether or not the person now occupying the highest office of the land deserves a renewal of the present mandate.

We of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo For President’s Forum do not think so. The hands of the present occupant are tainted with the blood of our late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills. If due diligence is not done properly we might have a murderer for President. What do you do to a “small snake” Kill it in its infancy before it grows up.

A friend recently illustrated the political terrain with an analogy. And what was it? He said if you see a snake and an NDC person, you must kill the NDC person first. Why? We asked. “Because there is no medicine which can neutralize the poisonous venom from the bite of an NDC Member! But there is medicine for snake bite”, she concluded.

It is on this note that NADAAFPFs solicit the support of all leading Media Houses in possession of these three tapes to please play them continuously and intermittently as if your entire lives depend on them. You will be discharging your patriotic duty to your motherland if you did just that. Tapes nooo Tapes noo!!

Play the tapes now!!!
