Wesley Girls Case: Confused Bishops, biased ministers, emotional population and wrong trajectory

Bishops, the interior minister says mission schools came begging government because you couldn’t manage the schools well ooo or is it the case that the schools were overwhelmed because of government inability to provide adequate educational infrastructure?

I find it disappointing that a whole minister of interior will take sides in such a matter especially when it’s before the courts. Dialogue and consensus building is the best way out because Ghana is the looser whichever way the court ruling goes. Or is it because a Muslim is involved in this case? Would he claim the same position if it were a Buddhist, atheist or Adventist?

Talking about Buddhist, atheist and Adventist, we have them all in Wesley Girls. Why is only the Muslim complaining?

If majority of the mission schools allow for other religious expressions why is Wesley Girls different? Is it that a few mission schools are restricted for the purposes of religious preservation? Will that be justified?

What about the many islamici schools where every student must wear a hijab, classes end half-day on Fridays, mealtimes adjusted during ramadan and non-muslim religious activities allowed on campus? For me, i dont see anything wrong with this in an Islamic school.

Does government funding of a religious entity providing a public good justify control? What about the numerous mission hospitals providing 30-40% of Ghana’s healthcare and receiving support from government but owned and controlled by the churches?

Can the church take back its schools considering the seeming threat by government and the fact that many of these schools have faded in their glory since becoming public schools.

What do you think about the comments made by the Ministers of education and interior?

Especially the minister of interior desperately quoting irrelevant and archaic laws to support his bid. Were they justified or they were just being biased?
