Not long ago Mrs. Konadu Agyemang Rawlings had alleged that she would retire Nana
Dankwah Akuffo-Addo from active politics come election 2012. I laughed my head off
at her fantasy. How can she, a political retiree though an incubus, compel Nana Addo
into political reclusion as a pensioner? Mrs. Rawlings is lost in reveries that will
never come to fruition.
What an egocentric daydreamer she is? She is at liberty to entertain us with more of
her dreams. Rawlings and his wife have shot themselves in the foot. The little
respect left for them for being a Former First Couple is confronted with the
corrosive effect of humiliation. They had desired to command respect without
considering the fact that "respect is earned but not commanded" Their insults,
insinuations and false allegations directed at their political rivals have backfired
on them.
The Rawlingses were offered a long rope by Ghanaians but instead of being grateful
for their kindness, they started to take them for fools. Little did they know, as
self-centred as they are, that, "When a long rope falls into an unwitty hand, it
does not take long for a noose to form to hang himself" They did not subject only
Former President Kufuor to constant insults but also, President Atta Mills. They
think they will ride on the back of insults to clinch power again. They have failed
if this is the way they think to come back to rule Ghana again. They are history!
Their own NDC family or folks are fed up with them. They are planning to kick them
out of the party at any least opportunity. The Rawlingses are planning to form their
own political party in case Mrs Rawlings fails to clinch the position of NDC
flagbearer for 2012 elections. Try as they do, they are bound to fail much as the
NDC will suffer relegation into opposition. What more ideas have the Rawlingses
after being in power for nineteen solid years? For all that I know they are
desperate to save their neck from the looming abolition of that clause of "Indemnity
and no accountability for Dr. Togbe Avaklasu Rawlings as entrenched in the 1992
Constitution at his behest. They are scared of seeing the indemnity cocoon split in
two-halves for all to see the ghosts in their closet emerge.
Nana Akuffo-Addo is ordained by God to liberate Ghanaians from their oppression in
the land of NDC to the promised land of the NPP where the flowing rivers of peace,
freedom of human rights etc abound. All responsible and discerning Ghanaians are
looking forward to the advent of Nana Akuffo-Addo, the liberator.
We are waiting on Nana Akuffo-Addo but not Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to move
Ghana forward. I miss Nana's kangaroo's moving-Ghana-forward dance. We are moving
forward with NPP!
