Why should we wait for what can be done now?

The vice president has made a lot of promises hinging on his election as the President of Ghana. To invalidate questions regarding his inability to fulfil these promises while in power, he tagged himself as the mate being led by a driver. In effect, he is not the one driving the affairs of this nation. Is that really the case?

A little over a month ago when Dr. Bawumia met students from BA and got surprised with questions of unpaid teacher trainee allowance, it took him less than a week to redeem himself. He just had to make the call for the money to be paid.

Recently, in a radio discussion, Chairman Wuntumi recorded how, in less than 24 hours, through the vice president, he was able to grab a road contract for the beneficiary contractor to move to the site.

If Dr. Bawumia can pull these strings as the vice president in record time, breaking the Public Procurement Act without anyone questioning him along the way, then he is not just an errand boy for the President; he is his co-pilot.

Doc has been generally dishonest in his quest to be President. Where there are gains, he takes credit for them, even in aspects of digitalization that were not his initiative, Ghana Card, Mobile Money Interoperability, and a host of them, he is quick to take credit.

When it comes to aspects where things didn't go well, he assumes the role of a bus conductor and makes promises to fix them when given power.

We have seen the best of Bawumia over the past four years. If this government has done well enough to warrant another term, then let's be fair and let him lead us.

We see the Dollar. If there is something he can do to ensure some economic stability, it shouldn't wait until he is the President. If he cannot do it, then how do we trust him to do it later?

He was Nana's Economic Messiah. If the economy is doing well, we have to celebrate him and reward him. If not, trusting him to do it later makes no sense.

This thing about being the mate should be told to the Marines; he has been one of the most powerful vice presidents regarding the ability to call the shots.

If Nana has succeeded, it is partly due to the role DMB has played; if Nana has failed, it is partly due to the poor guidance from DMB.

A mate who has a say as to what to do with the sales is either the car owner's son, the car owner, or a co-driver.
