Loving Mothers By
Habel Awuku Dadoto

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait at all to get grownup. Nobody seemed to understand me and my mom seemed to live in an alien world too.

Awuku "she called me" (Did you take out the trash, do your homework, eat Your food?. Don't beat Your Brother and what have you done to your hair?) I brushed it with red oil when I finished eating without washing my hand. (You understand what I mean). These seemed to be her 5 top priority lines.

(My brother and I used to call them Mama's Gospels.) I really wished she was more cool with it. But as I grew up, I started to appreciate the numerous things she did for me and began to realize that all that I am today is because of her love and constant support. She cheered for me at all my school games, took me to the river side to swim to cool my body from the 35 degree sunshine heat. She told me stories of our great grandfathers to encourage my interest in History and Writing.

One time mom caught a bad cold and was feeling very down with fever but she stayed awake the whole night, encouraging me to finish my lessons for the next morning's Exams. She was the one who urged me to never let go of my dreams.

Now, when I look back and think of those days, I feel that the saying "There could be no world without women", so God made Eve out of Adam for Adam" is very true!

From the first hug and the first kiss, begins Mom's gift of love. I very much appreciate my Mom and would like to be around her always. However, as I am an adult now, I have to be on my own and can not always be with her. Only My thoughts can be.

On this special day for mothers, let us all reach out to our mothers through God in special prayers as he made them to be His representatives here on earth for us.

Mothers, be always blessed

In honor and to remember the numerous parts mothers played to bring us where we are today.
