Love him or hate him.(ZICO)

Selling of players has been used as a commodity to make lots of money in Africa, and in doing so it has mortgaged the souls of those who use it irresponsibly or sell cheap.

Ask Osei Bonsu Kingsley (a.k.a Lord Zico) who is now making his mortgage payments in public humiliation and private shame in the eyes of the people of Sunyani. This to me is nonsense on stilts.

It is time for the supporters of B/A United and Aduana to do some painstaking self-examination and confession that their best moments in supporting the teams were the time when Zico was in control of affairs.During those times he was considered as an endangered specie as he was bringing fame to them. They were always praising him with a cascade of encomiums describing him as an extraordinary person with many stellar qualities. It goes a bridge too far when supporters start disowning their "Moses" and that strenghtens the saying that "no prophet is accepted in his own country".

The sacking of Zico from B/A United by George Arthur and his henchmen is having a bigger effect on the team now. The team has been groping in the dark and would continue to do so since they cannot get a reliable person who would make things click for them. They have been operating or playing in fartlegs, which cannot make them succeed.

Managing a team is a learned craft and Zico maybe made a raft or rookie mistake but no matter what Zico did the Dormaahene should have drawn the line for him in future dealings.People who have studied this man in his different incarnations would bear a good testimony of his expertise in managing a team. One cannot sell the hen that lays the golden egg and that is the stuff Zico is made of.He is never rattled by the snipery of critics or the fickle commentary of people who oppose his views and actions.

Aduana becoming a force to reckon with at the level they are now is all through the hard work of Zico. Nobody new Aduana outside Brong Ahafo region when they were in the lower division and would have gone into oblivion by now. The reason of people jubilating was because there wouldn't be any stronger team to challenge B/A United and Bofoakwa and these two teams would always go to the play offs.Aduana is now going to enter a treacherous swirl of football and management and should know how to navigate.Maybe it wouldn't be the load of leadership that is going to break them down but the way the load would be carried.

It is because of this that I am appealing to Nana Agyemang Badu II and the Dormaa traditonal council to go back on their decision and call Zico back. After all the word "Sankofa" could still be found in the dictionary of Dormaaman.
