We Are More Than Ready For Akufo-Addo.

Sun, 13 Jan 2008 Source: Lens

The noise has ended and the dust has settled. The NPP claims that it has ?elected? a flagbearer in the person of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. However, every discerning mind knows that Akufo-Addo was not elected by popular acclamation, but he was appointed because Allan ?Cash? Kyeremanteng, acting in accordance with the dictates of John Agyekum Kufuor and his cabal, willed it so. Nonetheless, since the NPP is parading Akufo-Addo around as its flagbearer, those of us on The Ghanaian Lens congratulate Akufo-Addo on the less than marginal ?victory? he chalked.

And we say to him, welcome to the race. Akufo-Addo, just like John Agyekum Kufuor, has spent years dreaming about becoming president of Ghana and we are in doubt that after trying unsuccessfully two previous times to lead the NPP, and with his questionable victory, Akufo-Addo must be telling himself that the presidency is his for the taking. Well, The Ghanaian Lens has news for Akufo-Addo; his dream of becoming president of Ghana will continue to remain a dream because there is no way Akufo-Addo is going to fly past the astute Professor John Evans Atta Mills to the presidency. In as much as his is not an inordinate desire, Atta Mills is more than poised to win the confidence of Ghanaians, not to fulfill a long-cherished childhood dream, but to be of service to his people and his motherland just like Kwame Nkrumah and Jerry Rawlings, to give to the majority of Ghanaians their share of what mother Ghana has for them, and to provide a level playing field that allows for all Ghanaians, irrespective of political leaning and/or tribal origin, to confidently feel that they belong to Ghana.

In all respects; be it, academic record, public service record, or a vision for Ghana, John Evans Atta Mills is prepared to pitch them against whatever it is that Akufo-Addo has, and The Ghanaian Lens knows for a fact that in all departments, Akufo-Addo will not be able to measure up to Atta Mills. Also, we know that Akufo-Addo is a very ?dirty? politician, and it is for that reason that we say that ?WE ARE MORE THAN READY FOR AKUFO-ADDO?.

Yes, The Ghanaian Lens is prepared to wear our gloves any day any time and fight it out with Akufo-Addo and his faction anytime they call for a fight. Akufo-Addo?s arrogance is legendary and we know that an old dog cannot be taught new tricks; as such Akufo-Addo will not be able to change his style. Besides, we know that the Akyem cabal that surrounds Akufo-Addo is made up of some very hotheaded and extremely arrogant individuals and we know that before long, their arrogant and pompous nature will take center stage. The Ghanaian Lens is just serving notice to Akufo-Addo and his Akyem cabal that we will not tolerate any nonsense from them.

If they insult Atta Mills, we shall pour out insults on Akufo-Addo, if they throw a punch at Atta Mills, we shall throw punches at Akufo-Addo, if they bare an ass at Atta Mills, we shall bare asses at Akufo-Addo, if they stick their middle finger at Atta Mills, we shall stick middle fingers at Akufo-Addo, and if they pour sh*t on Atta Mills, we shall pour tons of sh*t on Akufo-Addo. In other words, Akufo-Addo and his gang should know that we are not going to let them off any hook.

Already, Akufo-Addo has set the tone for the election year by referring to the NDC as ?POLITICAL ENEMIES? and declaring ?WAR ON THE NDC? and we want him to know that we also consider him and the NPP to be our political enemies and have also declared war on them. And since enemies are not treated as friends, Akufo-Addo and his NPP will not be treated as friends by The Ghanaian Lens in any way.

Indeed, we have no doubt that the NDC as a political party has heard Akufo-Addo loud and clear is also prepared to treat Akufo-Addo and the NPP as political enemies.

Akufo-Addo can NEVER become president of Kwame Nkrumah?s Ghana and it is not because The Ghanaian Lens is dreaming.

Akufo-Addo can NEVER become president of Kwame Nkrumah?s Ghana and it is because we have our ears on the ground and have heard lots of things after the dodgy victory of Akufo-Addo and we know that some core members of the NPP are not prepared to risk giving the mandate to Akufo-Addo because they know what he stands for and how his reign will be worse than that of Kufuor.

Akufo-Addo?s risk factors are so high that it would be against the conscience of this paper not to educate our readers on why Akufo-Addo is not fit to become president of Ghana especially after what Kufuor and the NPP have done to defile this dear country of ours.

For those who are saying that we should deal with issues and not personalities, we agree with them.

However, in view of the fact that we did not make the character of Kufuor part of the issues prior to the 2000 elections, and allowed him to swing into power on the wings of being a ?God-fearing man and a man with a vision? only for him to treat us worse than Nebuchadnezzar treated the people of Babylon, it is impossible for The Ghanaian Lens not to look deep into the character of Akufo-Addo.

In any case, people like Kofi Coomson have served notice that they would make Atta Mills? character an issue, so why should we also not make Akufo-Addo?s character an issue?

Whiles keeping our lenses on the vision that the candidates have for Ghana, we will keep our lenses on the character, academic record, public service record, and working life record of Akufo-Addo and will make sure that we put out any strand of information we have on him because it is important that Ghanaians know Akufo-Addo for who he is.

We believe that we will be doing a great deal of disservice to Ghana if we don?t let Ghanaians know who Akufo-Addo is, and we pledge to our esteemed readers that we are more than ready for Akufo-Addo and we will DEAL with him without fear or favour.

Happy New Year to us all, and may God continue to bless our hom
