Is the IEA an arm of the NPP?

Sun, 29 Jun 2008 Source: Poku, Kojo

The Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) have provided live political platform for three political rivals, in the past weeks, but it was obvious the institute was not neutral due to the overt bending of the programme rules.

Take a look at the following:

  • 1) Dr Nduom(CPP) spoke for 20 minutes. Prof Atta-Mills(NDC) 20 minutes BUT Nana Akufo-Addo(NPP) spoke for 40 minutes.

  • 2) Atta-Mills was posed 35 questions; Dr Nduom answered about the same amount BUT Akufo-Addo was left off easily answering only FIVE questions.

  • 3) Akufo Addo arrived 35 minutes late for the program, clearly breaking the IEA rule and thereby delaying the programme for over 30 minutes - the IEA never cautioned him. The other two were on time.
