The Chronicle Editor – Stop Castigating Alan Kyerematen

Thu, 4 Jun 2009 Source: Amankwah, Nana Kofi

The Chronicle Daily News paper dated Monday 25th May 2009, on myjoyonline.com published a false story about Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng (Chief). The editor stated, “Alan to launch Prez bid soon”. The intension of Kofi Coomson the Editor of the Chronicle is to portray Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng in the eyes of NPP members as the bad guy who doesn’t want to bring unity to the UP/PP/NPP tradition. But he has the nerve to describe Akufo Addo, whom he has worked for since 2006-2007, as the good guy. However, the majority of NPP supporters are not as foolhardy as Coomson thinks. About ninety percent of NPP followers know Akufo Addo as a divisive and arrogant individual whose political ideology divided the UP/PP/PFP tradition in 1979 for his selfish interests.

Kofi Coomson the editor in chief of Chronicle and his yellow journalism has the audacity to publish deceptive, misleading and unfounded allegations against Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen on behalf of some NPP political enemies of Alan Kyeremateng. Coomson’s assignment is to destroy Alan’s image through the media. Coomson categorically sated in his Newspaper on Monday, “ Mr. John Alan Kyeremateng, former Minister of Trade Industry and the president’s Special Initiative (PSI), will in the next couple of days launch another bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 presidential election”. He therefore continued to say that Alan’s decision was as a result of pressures mounted on him by his admirers, supporters and bankrollers after talks between him and Akufo Addo broke down”. In fact, the way he frames the story will make people believe it is a true story. These are all bogus allegations from Kofi Coomson. There were no such talks that took place anywhere in Kumasi. Coomson wanted to use Alan to exacerbate tension within NPP to sell his newspaper. Coomson indicates that the NPP Ashanti Region chairman of the council of elders Apenteng Appaih – Menkah was the mediator.

This Appaih Menkah is Akufo Addo’s crony and will never broker any fair deal for the NPP. He has nothing good to say about Alan and therefore should never be a mediator. Appiah Menkah should by now know better because his 70-year-old Akufo Addo has had his chance before and the party cannot continue their old policies anymore. After Akufo Addo silence for the past five months, now he has come out to speak on issues he could not critique before: the NDC party and Attah Mills policies. Even a first year Economics major who is taking statistics will do a better critique on Mills than what Akufo Addo did. This signifies that this Akufo Addo has no vision and leadership capabilities to lead the country for the NPP. As a result of this Kofi Coomson’s negative publications about Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng, should not be taken frivolously by his supporters. Since he came from Nigeria to establish his newspaper business he has always chosen money a head of personal privacy. Henceforth, the supporters of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng are urging Kofi Coomson and his staff to immediately stop politicizing these issues through their negative stories about Alan. If not there will be litigation against him and his company for deformation charges in a court of law. Enough is enough. I will also immediately publish Kofi Coomson’s dubious connections he made in London with the media, because I also have all the documents with me to publish. Nananum, Ladies and gentleman, Kofi Coomson and Gabby Octere Darko, the editor of the Statesman newspaper (which is owned by Akufo Addo), have tried in many ways to blaspheme Alan’s name. It was these two aforementioned individuals who have given a negative impression to Ghanaians through their Newspapers by calling Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng a name: “Alan Cash”. Their motive is to give Ghanaians a bad impression of him as a big money spender in his 2007 presidential bid. But thank God that those who know him from his consultancy firm knows his good vision of using his skills of Economics and Law to write good business models to show people how to make money. As an American will vigorously tell you Timeout, when he wants you to cease and desist, he means what he is saying and we mean what we are saying. I want Kofi Coomson to realize that this is “Time-Out” for him now over his nonsense on Alan’s reputation period.
